Change Posted November 17, 2015 (edited) It has been suggested that this plant may have the Tobacco Mosaic Virus, I would appreciate your thoughts on the matter... I always thought these yellow dots were sunburn, but now i cant really be certain eitherway So im wondering is it possible for Tobacco Mosaic Virus to be transferred in pollen ? And how serious of a problem is it to the rest of my collection ? I wonder if Tobacco Mosaic Virus can trigger flowering, because at this point in time it is my only cactus that flowers, so maybe its a good thing, as far as im aware its a healthy plant but my awareness is quite limited. I have a Scop which flowered today, it also has four more buds ready to go; one tomorrow, the remaining will flower within the next two weeks. If they take I'll return the favour with seeds I'm not experienced enough yet to be able to provide any valuable info regarding the yellowing, sorry. Evil Genius Posted November 17, 2015 Hi Change, if it´s actually TMV, it could theoretically spread through pollen. I wouldnt be overly worried about it though. Master B Posted November 17, 2015 (edited) Mate I would love some of your pollen if you have any left? Will pm now I keep my pollen in a sealed container with silica gel packets as a desiccant... I then store in in the fridge for at least a week to desiccate and then freeze it. I will leave it in the fridge if i am going to use it in the coming couple of weeks.
