This is my little vine. The thick part of the stem is probably about 2 bic lighters in height, (I put the bic on top of the amp, rather than in the pot, whoops...)

I'm keeping it indoors at the moment as it's been very cold here and I was afraid due to his size he'd die over winter, I got him late last summer. I hope after this year it will be able to survive outside if the root system gets big enough over the warmer months, I will be putting him in a large pot with something to climb up as soon as the weather improves. I figured the small amount of afternoon sun it gets would be sufficient through winter and so far he seems pretty happy. Hasn't started to look sad through winter yet. I water it once or twice a week.

Oh, and ignore the brugmansia cuttings that are rooting in the background. :)

Wow what another great comp rahli !!!

Not much to show for my recent interest into Caapi, this is the only one I have in the ground, probably 8 MNTHS OR SO. But she has finally started to hang onto this big jacarandah :-).

Ordinarily I'd be embarrassed to show off such a plant, starved of sufficient warmth over winter, but I kicked my self when I didn't submit for your psychotria comp ;-).

Awesome comp rahli, as usual :)

As Change, Horus will be pretty difficult to beat.

I'm posting a few photos of my family of vines that are growing under a Swamp Cypress in my backyard, as I was planning on documenting them anyway.

I've got a unknown strain of B. caapi that's been in the ground for almost 6 years & in a pot for probably 3 more, an Alicia anisopetala and a Mansoa allicea (Ajo sacha), both of which went in early last year.

The caapi always looks like crap in winter, as it loses its leaves, and only last year I gave up trying to keep it out of the tree. The Alicia and the Ajo Sacha are both growing happily through their first winter. Hopefully the Ajo Sacha grows over the Coffee Bush & onto the Swamp Cypress this season.

Looking good tarrena. How old is your original planting mate?

It is over 8 years now in a subtropical lowland rainforest habitat on basalt-derived colluvial soils.. It is the "cielo" strain - from what I understand, thanks Terrence McK and Hawaii... ;-)
