Music docos/movies/concerts etc, for altered states?

Recommended Posts

What are your favourites, or recommendations for awesome music with visuals?

Some of mine offhand are:

Shpongle; live at the Roundhouse

Muse; concert in Rome

Pink Floyd; live at Pompeii

Tool; I keep all the DVDs in the same spot to make them easier to find when the walls start to melt. Be nice if they could make the menus easier to navigate too...

Sigur Ros; Valtari. Different filmmakers were invited to make videos of their interpretations of some of the songs. A veritable rainbow of emotions felt. The scope of human imagination here would make me proud to show this to an alien intelligence.

Beastie Boys; Fight for your rights revisited

Led Zeppelin; the song remains the same

Porcupine Tree; I think the dvd is called Anesthetize

Radiohead; I think it's called King of Limbs, live from the Basement

Concert for George; george harrison's tribute concert. I prefer the first half which is written by Ravi Shankar and many of the players were the original musicians playing alongside George back when they did Concert For Bangladesh. The sitar playing of Anoushka Shankar is mesmerising.

It Might Get Loud; Jimmy Page, Jack White, and The Edge talk about guitars, playing style, etc. Maybe not visual per se but a cool doco nonetheless.

VVV Obtusi, yeah I remember that guy on the bongos!! rofl smashed crabs hey?

Listening to propper hard techno, watching drawn together while having intercourse on lsd is pretty mentaly stimulating.edit: (700mls of wild turkey and some west coast fucking coolers. Dang good time!)

Ive never watched drawn together and listened to its dialect so just watching it muted was pretty gooey on the brain. Weirdest sexual encounter ever. But very intresting. Yes im a freak. Thank you.

I watched Akira one time on a nice cactus brew. Was mind blowing.

Regular show has me in stiches in the colder months. I recommend Regular show if you're after a laugh.

Mmmm might have to re-think 'Altered States'.

Generally I wouldn't be able to locate the tv let alone watch/listen to anything.

Might just back it off a bit and give it a shot :)

I'd like to second the Akira circle jerk that's beginning to form .  Show blows my mind.

Also Rick and Morty .
