Question

Hi All,

Had a colleague send me this photo of a weed that popped up at his place. Doesnt look familiar to me, can anyone else ID it?

Complete noob guess here, is it a native frangipani, Hymenosporum flavum?

Another wild guess, but it kind of looks like a swan plant to me (Gomphocarpus sp.).

Let us know if those flowers swell into the telltale balloons.

I recon you could be onto a win with the Gomphocarpus. ive passed it on and will let you all know :)

I dunno where "south west" is

south west aus = perth was just coming back in to say that haha. could of been useful.

Do you get Wanderer butterflies (we call them Monarchs) in Perth? The caterpillars absolutely love these plants.

we most certainly do :) i saw that, but being a "declared pest" is mildly concerning. Seems to be medicinal/edible too.
