cactuscarl Posted November 16, 2011 Are you in this gilligan? I got a few grafts off you a while ago they are going pretty well, well one is the other one doesn't seem to be growing it still looks healthy but not doing anything?
gilligan Posted November 16, 2011 Yeah, I have yet to graft anything yet... Haven't done a pere graft in ages... Dunno re the grafts, if ones growing, then I'd expect the other one to, esp if still looking healthy? They trich ones? No pups growing off the stock? That often takes some energy out of the scion growth?
gilligan Posted November 16, 2011 (edited) Re that lamp GoT, Wouldn't need that if you had left it alone when younger like your mum told you to! Edited November 16, 2011 by gilligan

tripsis Posted November 22, 2011 That's quite an investment for grafting! Tempting though. Well tempting if I had money anyway.
GoOnThen Posted November 22, 2011 I buy stuff from there for my business and I saw the lamp and thought I could do with of them for the workshop. I just keep it at home in my shed so it doesn’t get damaged. Cheers Got

cactuscarl Posted December 1, 2011 (edited) Got my first signs of growth One graft has shot out a couple of hairs So i have one success one failure and 4 that look pretty good to me (touch wood) I'm waiting on more seed to sprout my first lot i sowed on the first have just started sprouting i don't know why they took that long. My second lot started sprouting in a week or so but only one every two days so its a slow process How are everyone else's going ? Khala Posted December 6, 2011 Well, I've been busy moving, but just then I did my first ever loph graft! Feels good. I felt so bad cutting the little loph but. It's on hylocereus undatus, not sure howi t will go. Got it on my desk out of any direct sunlight (which would be filtered through window anyway) in a corner with a plastic bag taped over the whole pot (it has three hylo plants in it) and full of spraybottle water...hopefully it will take off. Unfourtunately I have no internet where I've moved (Did you know a place can run out of ADSL ports?I might not get net for months...) so no pictures until that's sorted out or I go to a library. Sorry. Peace!
captaincactuscakes Posted December 9, 2011 I recently had my first successful loph graft its a great feeling. Now they all seem to work, I guess it takes a lot of mistakes to finally be rewarded!
Khala Posted December 9, 2011 Okay, here is a photo of my graft: It has funny orange colouration, thoughts? Peace
GoOnThen Posted December 12, 2011 (edited) I recently had my first successful loph graft its a great feeling. Now they all seem to work, I guess it takes a lot of mistakes to finally be rewarded! Well done captain it is a great feeling isnt it Okay, here is a photo of my graft:Attached Image: lophg.JPG It has funny orange colouration, thoughts? Peace Do you still have it in humidity if you do I would take it out. I am afraid any graft of mine that showed that orange on the join has failed and I had presumed it was in high humidity for to long Most of my grafts are showing growth some more so than others. One of my first ones is a fail and I have another that is just hanging in there after I wacked it on my lights while I was moving it. At this point I have about seven lophs that are looking good. One of my ario grafts looks ok the other I am not sure about. I did another three lophs a couple of nights ago so I think that makes a total of 14 lophs and 2 ario's so far. I have heaps more seedlings waiting I just need to find time keep propagating peres and to get the grafts done I am going to move some out side soon as I am fighting a with fungus gnats in my shed at the moment Cheers Got Edited December 13, 2011 by GoOnThen
