Ebola. Latest developments thread.

Recommended Posts

Yes, ... hi peeps,.... the current Ebola outbreak seems more successful than the previous ones.

So I am starting this thread to gather latest info and see how we can be smart about this virus if the situation calls for it.

The whole getting on a plane and vomiting of an infected individual to an international destination is a serious red flag to me.

So lets hear it. Opinions, information and preparedness. Not trying to create panic. Just keeping the eye on the ball so to speak.

Be well frienggggsss!

perhaps unrest has disturbed regular food production and increased the bushmeat trade, thereby increasing ebola contact, then spread through protests (public gatherings have been restricted for this reason i gather). i won't be eating a raw gorilla any time soon...

I recommend this book to everyone if you have not read it already. "The Hot Zone" by Richard Preston. Ebola CAN be spread by people sneezing and coughing unlike the vague inaccurate waffle of that idiot talking on the BBC report... Just one drop of blood, body fluid from a sneeze or the like and its game over...

No intended offense woof woof woof.

non taken Planthunter. Perhaps it is pretty clear that transmission through sneezing or coughing is less successful than compared to the flue. I do not know the numbers. Will have to look into this more deeply.

I would suggest..buy lots of long life food...nuts ..grains...dried fruits...& if it should come to your land...isolate yourself & avoid near proximity contact with others.....but that may be an over reaction...1 researcher/MD...said he would sit next to a person with ebola on a train.....there's also the bubonic plague popping up now & then ..swine & bird flu is resurging.........it could be a multiable punch .....

''Monsanto and the Dept. of Defense is helping fund a pharmaceutical company that could earn billions from the Ebola treatment'', this should ring alarm bells did for me ''monsatan'' ...

The perfect bioweapon against humanity? I also need to make you urgently aware that Ebola is a "perfect" bioweapon. Because of its ability to survive storage and still function many days, weeks or years later, it could be very easily harvested from infected victims and then preserved using nothing more than a common food dehydrator.

As the Public Health Agency of Canada explains: (8)

The virus can survive in liquid or dried material for a number of days (23). Infectivity is found to be stable at room temperature or at 4 © for several days, and indefinitely stable at -70 C.

To translate this into laymen's terms, this means the Ebola virus can be:

• Stored in a liquid vial and easily smuggled across international borders.

• Dehydrated and stored in a dried state, then easily smuggled.

• Frozen at very low temperatures where it remains viable indefinitely.

Once dried, contained or frozen, Ebola pathogens can be smuggled into target countries with ridiculous ease. In the United States, for example, people can literally walk right through our Southern open borders with zero security whatsoever.

Would think every extremist group in the world would be on flights to the infected area as we speak?

"it could be very easily harvested from infected victims and then preserved using nothing more than a common food dehydrator."

Tho you might not want to dehydrate any actual food in it afterwards...

Quick, legislate an EUD for food dehydrators, because terrorists

Most of the dodgy shit that is easily do-able at home isn't done, because most people aren't arseholes to that extent, or this shit would be happening every five minutes. Like stupid Oklahoma bombers. Yes, it's technically possible to do stupid ugly shit at home. Always has been. Doesn't happen often

Governments, OTOH have labs with all the shiny toys. They don't need to do it at home. And we trust them, right?

UH OH

The Department of Health will be conducting the largest surprise emergency drill in New York City history on Friday to test the delivery of medications in the event of a biological attack.
More than 1,500 health department employees from more than a dozen agencies will be setting up 30 locations to be temporarily used to administer life-saving medication in the event of a biological outbreak.

[link to nypost.com]

Surprise! Surprise! Yesterdays headlines were about Ebola possibly coming to America and now they have the largest Bio-Attack Drill ever. These drills aren't planned overnight. This event was planned long before these global Ebola outbreaks (which they still haven't officially found out the origin of) but it's saturated with irony when you look at the history of "drills" and false flag/crisis occurrences. The Globalist are really speeding up now and covering all their bases with at least 4 different emergency scenarios.

1. Possible Bio Outbreak/Attack to implement martial law and quarantines. FEMA/DHS/National Guard

2. Massive Illegal Alien Exodus creating border instability to implement FEMA/ICE/DHS

3. World War 3 Provocations with multiple missing nuclear materials

4. Impending Economic Crash (dow -300) causing mass civil disobedience to implement martial law DHS/National Guard

All of this coupled with the recent ignition of several FEMA and Detention facilities really gives one pause and these are just 4 scenarios that we know about and I can think of off the top of my head. These are precursors of epic magnitude

The Ebola outbreak in West Africa is spreading faster than efforts to control it, World Health Organization (WHO) head Margaret Chan has said.

She told a summit of regional leaders that failure to contain Ebola could be "catastrophic" in terms of lives lost.

But she said the virus, which has claimed 728 lives in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone since February, could be stopped if well managed.

A US relief agency says will repatriate two of its American staff who have contracted the virus in Liberia.

They are believed to be the first Ebola patients ever to be treated in the US.

Hundreds of US Peace Corps volunteers have already been evacuated from the West African countries.

Separately, US President Barack Obama announced that delegates from affected countries attending a US-Africa conference in Washington next week would be screened.

"Folks who are coming from these countries that have even a marginal risk, or an infinitesimal risk of having been exposed in some fashion, we're making sure we're doing screening," he said.

Dr Chan met the leaders of Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone to launch a new $100m (£59m) Ebola response plan.

The plan includes funding the deployment of hundreds more health care workers to affected countries.

"This meeting must mark a turning point in the outbreak response," Dr Chan said at the summit in Guinea's capital, Conakry.

"Cases are occurring in rural areas which are difficult to access, but also in densely populated capital cities."

She said the outbreak was the deadliest and most widely spread, and had also demonstrated an ability to spread through air travel, unlike past outbreaks.

Internal ministry of health reports obtained by the Guardian show health workers saw 606 people suspected of having the extremely contagious virus in a single day this week.

Ebola outbreak: Sierra Leone declares state of emergency as death toll climbs to almost 730

Updated August 01, 2014 15:08:56

Sierra Leone has declared a state of emergency as authorities struggle to contain the Ebola virus pandemic in west Africa, with the death toll now climbing to almost 730.

The country's president says all epicentres of the disease will be quarantined, enforced by the police and the military.

Sierra Leone has also joined Liberia in restricting public gatherings, with all deaths required to be reported to the authorities, while several other African countries have announced measures to screen travellers at border posts.

Here is an interesting post from a well respected virologist on a forum i frequent.

With all that out of the way …………this plan is a framework of thought so that it is adaptive to any biological outbreak, however I’m here to tell you that the 1917 flu killed 500,000 americans when the population was 1/20 of what it is today. In addition, the 1917 Flu killed more people in 1 year than the Bubonic Plague killed in 5 years (Europe).

The reason the media keeps repeating that mission medicine groups are pulling out is because they’ve never seen an outbreak in this scale before. Why they aren’t flying this patient to Fort Detrick containment facility first before Emory is unknown to me other than Emory and CDC have sequencing capabilities and Fort Detrick does not. I received a tweet from a colleague virologist in the field, Africa. His comment, “Much much worse than media is saying…. coming home”. I ask…..why wouldn’t they set up shop inside the massive BSL 4 facility at CDC? Emory? This virus has a 65% mortality rate not 80% which means it has traded off pathogenesis for the ability to “jump” i.e. move from patient to patient. Currently all that is known about this virus is that Blood or body fluid to mucus membrane direct contact, however, I now question that guideline recommendation for safe handling because the DOCTOR and NURSES who went straight away to the HOT ZONE are now infected and 2 nurses dead already that were trained to handle this virus infection in patients with “barrier protection” as recommended by CDC.

Bottom line: I believe this virus is traveling on micro droplets of lung water vapor thus the virus is airborne and bio-safety training for airborne virus means RESPIRATORS of which none of the personal on site are wearing and people are coming home from service in Africa who won’t know they are infected. This virus has a 21 day infectivity period. All virus in this class are limited for spreading and jumping because Ebola, Marburg, Lasa etc all KILL their host too fast i.e. 7-10 days and that includes primary infection to crash and bleed out. This virus is 21-30 days? Huge difference in number of people an infected person can get close to with an incubation of 21-30 days vs 7-10. I believe this virus is a mutant thus reason they are taking the patient to Emory so the CDC and Emory labs can sequence it. Fort Detrick does not have that capability. Call me crazy but I’m not leaving it to chance even with a minute chance of it happening. Be prepared my friends

I'm glad i'm not involved with producing the risk assessment matrix for this one.

It does not seem to be highly virulent as viruses go (haven't seen the true numbers so its just a guesstimation) but 65% fatality :o Fark

On the upside, that could put out population back under 10 million for the great southern land which would be almost sustainable if we replanted habitat along with it.

Severely worried about the doctor who treated the victim in Lagos and trying to track down his patients again the usual authority statement "it is controllable if we work fast". I think it's a real problem. A friend of mine was arguing we should be okay here in the west with modern facilities and records but it's becoming quickly out of control in west Africa. Watch the next jump in infections.
