mutant Posted December 11, 2008 I wonder what would be the main characteristics of these fatty trichs, as well as other similar trichs of the fatty 'family'... They grow more slowly than the fast growing trichs, I know that. They have more dense and long spination than pachanoi family. What else? I am supposedly growing both species, so it should be fun
0 mutant Posted May 17, 2015 sure there's a blond pasacana, but I think this ^^^^ is a terscheckii...
0 xochimachi Posted May 17, 2015 Kattsand!? Kitty litter for the soil mix? Haha.i think I know the reason why using it. It preserves moist eh?! That's a cool and new education ingredient for me. Can you reveal your receipt for a good soilmix using kattsand? I think I will be googling for how to use the kitty litter in soil mix. And eldorado kitkat litter is cheap also. .This is a really good and interesting information. .gracias loco!
0 ☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ Posted May 17, 2015 (edited) yeah the recipe is bung the holes with some moist compost and fill with kitty litter and add things you find that will help (perlite annoyingly floats to the top when watering btw) i include a bit of sand , a bit of horticultural gravel for weight for the fattys lol even alchemical soluble gold , the fun thing is you can develop your own personal mix bespoke to your own wants/ needs tha cation capacity on DE kitty litter is awesome and the airiness too seems to nicely replace terracotta externally for an equivalent internally Edited May 17, 2015 by ☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ

0 xochimachi Posted June 26, 2015 So..today i was at a nursery far out of the city and found 4 of this cacti. I think it's a terscheckii..but.. What do you think it could be?
0 mutant Posted June 26, 2015 looks like it, but this is not the place to ask for ID, but rather discuss terscheckii and pasacana cluster.. welcome to the forums
0 ☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ Posted October 16, 2015 (edited) ahaaa, i think i feel a label change coming... i'm pretty sure my 2nd tall fatty is just too close to the werder to be a blonde taquimbo ... maybe it's the "knuckles at the tip" and the spines being identical in the "flattened 7 legged spider" dept' -just the "hardon spine" (central spine) is skyward on one and floorward on t'other.. and one has earlier forming spines (for now) and striations/growth marks ... absent on the #1 perhaps the werder#1 is the parent of werder#2? anyhoo... still no roots on the hefty mutant terschalidus cut ... that's the longest I've ever known something to not root yet without dying off on me... hmmm ... thanks for helping my safe passage thru noob-hood you guys Edited October 16, 2015 by ☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ
0 Happyconcacti Posted October 28, 2015 (edited) two different forms of terscheckii. Note on Form 2: it severly etiolated in one section and you can see how etiolation affects spine growth and shape. Also, in comparing the two forms, note the drastically different shape of the spines and ribs. 0 sagiXsagi Posted November 12, 2015 awesome pics and specimens. Thanks for sharing! Got to love some marks on the body that indicate crucial points in the cactus history
0 sagiXsagi Posted November 21, 2015 (edited) from left to right pasacana, terscheckii, terscheckii.. The right one is from a cutting... It must have done a year to root! pasacana, seedling tacaquirensis, chiloensis Taquimbalensis, terscheckii, terscheckii, pasacana, pasacana two forms of pasacana.. the left one had me puzzled, but I think it is just a blonder and spinier pasacana form. its not from the same batch of my lot of pasacanas terscheckii , pasacana Edited November 21, 2015 by sagiXsagi
0 sagiXsagi Posted November 22, 2015 (edited) I consider this to be special for both having brownish-reddish spines and being puppy. anyone having experience with a pupping pasacana? of considerance is that I bought some 100+ pasacana specimens intially, seed grown and some 3 and 4 together in the same pot. the particular pasacana batch I bought some 3 years ago seems to have had a variety in it.. only a couple of them seems to be pupping from small age, and I thought it might be a trait to be reported. I indend to transplant this into a larger containter to see what is to be done! Edited December 23, 2015 by sagiXsagi
