woot carnegia gigantia seeds germinated already,

anyone know if these are suitable grafting seedlings, reason i ask is because it is said they don't strike from cuttings

they will expand to ~1cm wide...& eventually grow round...like a cherry to crab apple size..depending on density of neighbours...problem is they hate to be disturbed for the 1st few seasons..till crab apple size...any smaller & loses in transplant may be high...if trans planting... keep very dry...light mist course potting mix...shade...

If not disturbing they can handle a few hours of good light...& more water, but they grow in shade in their native home...

I have grafted onto trich..s p... with good success, but the root/base of the young seedling seldom survives having the top cut..(cherry size root base should pup). but its a good way to thin a few out to give others in the pot more room...& grafting should speed up their growth...AZ gave the seed...& is an expert on them...so he may have better advice...

I've seen a bunch successfully grafted onto pereskiopsis as very young seedlings.

which seems fur ee muff to me

toiled with whether to illuminate germinatia and add some pc fans ... no decision

I just finished bringing in all my plants for the season, too bad it was raining and I kept having trick-or-treaters stop by. Naw, I liked the kids and their parents coming by; gives me an excuse to talk about cactus. I even gave away clippings to a couple young boys. This was probably the latest I ever brought them in, and just a few jabs to the hands, well, and one to the neck too.

I Traded a few window sill cactus like a copiapoa tennismussa(sp), mammilaria plumosa & a lucky bamboo plant today for cuttings of this vry nice plant which appears from my point of view to be a standard Peruvian torch. It has 5-8 spines and they all stay gold , with black-dark grey flower buds and a chunky diameter, I also got a very nice cuzcoensis with a wicked personality.. I love the spines of cuzcos
