mescalito Posted October 22, 2010 This fellar might just be a weed, but I seem to have some recollection of seeing this before, sure I've grown it a while back?
0 Micromegas Posted October 22, 2010 a baby passionflower perhaps?
0 nothinghead Posted October 22, 2010 The cotyledons are different from datura sp. And it looks a little bright for passionflower, though it could be... Will be easier to tell with an extra few leaves I think.
0 mescalito Posted October 22, 2010 No not Datura I'm pretty sure, passionflower I've never planted tho It might be a maypop as I have seeds here.... Whatever it is it's taken years to germ as I know the story behind this pot....Lago perhaps?
0 planthelper Posted October 22, 2010 the very large cotyledons would strongly point towards a legume type tree. i don't think it's lago at all. the first true leaf looks acer folia like.. maybe brachyton like? what trees surround you? my last lago attempt was a flop, and what i did germinate was bottle brush trees, haha. there seeds are so small, and fly everywhere... 0 tarenna Posted October 26, 2010 It looks a bit like a Silky Oak (Grevillea robusta) seedling to me.
0 planthelper Posted October 28, 2010 It looks a bit like a Silky Oak (Grevillea robusta) seedling to me. now that you say that, i can see what you mean. is it the little bit of reflectivness (silky oak shine) of the leaf that triggered your idea, or the shape? i'm sure i got sily oak seedlings in my garden, but probably none with still the cotyledon attached. i'll check out if the look like the pic, anyway, well observed tarenna, my money is on you! 0 ThunderIdeal Posted October 28, 2010 i thought a grevillea of some sort at first, but my money is on a passion vine of some type

0 ~shameless~ Posted November 6, 2010 There is probably a big/seed producing one growing nearby. When i was doing my apprenticeship i remember reading this book( it was from the UK) about indoor plants and it seemed like young saplings of this plant were used a bit like a false fern for indoors! 0 tarenna Posted November 17, 2010 Silky Oaks have very fine papery seeds that can blow a long way - not aware of any animals dispersing them, only wind and water..
