Help with top LED growlight

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Sorry if this is the wrong forum. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with topledgrowlight.com or just using LEDs as growlights.

Also, I bought a T5 light from Bunnings, and it didn't come with a power plug for the wall like I expected. If anyone could help I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Nick

I don't know what a t5 light is, but if it didn't come with a plug then you would need an electrician to put one on for you. Pretty sure its not legal here in Australia to do it yourself.

Sorry i cant add any more to the subject, even though its something i am interested in learning too

lol. Well, I had a bunch of High Power LED Panels to raise my cactus seedlings over winter. Very big Fan of LED´s...they will revolutionize the growlamp market.

and they were that good i bought more for the rainforest box

orchid growers in asia say there's nothing else worth using than LED's nowdays

want to build your own>? http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2014/4/lighting

theres a lot of different leds , many cheap imitations too apparently so i read...

I try to hunt for 6500 kelvin white / daylight output personally but its amazing how much you can control on some with a little computer type controller

not sure if theyve caught up with demand yet, but I think all the hospitals of the world are upgrading to this lighting

since its beneficial to human health :) particularly 6500k

the best LEDs I had found so far are LG Cree XP , heres one of them with links to more further dwn the page http://www.cree.com/LED-Components-and-Modules/Products/XLamp/Discrete-Directional/XLamp-XPE2

hope it helps or is at least fun to research :)

Nick, I'd be more than happy to help you fit a correct 3-pin plug. I could do it in my sleep. And no, i'm not an electrician. PM me if you like.

Thunder Horse, that is some impressive aquarium growth! Are you using CO2?

Thanks guys for the replies, appreciate it!

Evil Genius - That's exactly my plan; I should have cacti seed in the mail which I plan to grow in a propagator under lights

Thunder Horse - Big fan of the rain forest dome will get something similar going for the khat plants.

CrayZ Thanks mate I've just decided to scrap the bunnings light that was the problem, and the LED in favour of a 400w mh kit which looks promising and tbh really easy.

Hey guys here's a little update I returned that piece of rubbish long Fluoro to bunnings and bought 3 80watt compact fluorescent from h2gro.com.au (who are definitely the cheapest, and so I can forgive them if their service was abit shite).

Anyway seeing peoples set ups on here is a major source of motivation.
