Question

Can anyone tell me what this thing might be ?

I got it in a box full of stuff Quarterflesh sent a few years ago. He wasn't sure what it was at the time. It's the best grafting stock I've got at the moment, scions on this stock grow at an incredible rate.

It was a tip cut and the plant I cut it from is roughly 7" in diameter. It almost looked like a sausage plant before I cut the top off it.

Thanks Stu

Are cuzcoids known for getting the sausage plant growth habit where they get narrow and then get wider again ?

you mean terminate and start again or just grow thin then fat?

afaik the latter is just a growth habit where the plant may grow during a period of less light (thin) then get fatter when it grow in more light (fatter), not necessarily specific to any one breed

No it doesn't terminate Stu, it just narrows off and then thickens back up.

You're most likely right about it just being from seasonal variation etc.

It looks like it wants to grow tall Micos, not that it gets the chance to. Everytime it gets big enough to cut a decent size piece off that I can root, I cut it and use the base for stock.

It just so good as stock it's hard to resist cutting it and grafting something onto it. It's not just how fast the scions grow, they also have a natural look to them, they get nice sexy big heads instead of a few big ones and lots of little ones. Plus it's never thrown a pup when something has been grafted to it.

Thanks guys
