Madenii flowers are almost white/cream colour and generally flower in Spring, the seed pods are very curly and twisted. Those golden yellow flowers are not from a madenii that I'm aware of.

hmm thanks for your help Chiral, i have photo's of madenii with golden flowers and now i am completely confused.

Maybe the climate its growing in can affect the flower colors? i notice you are from Sydney were its cold and i am from Brisbane were its hotter.

Once again thanks alot for taken the time to look threw the photo's, kinda disappointing, still a beautiful tree.

Thanks a ton for those links Chiral,

Seems to be a Acacia leiocalyx though the flowers seem a bit different and stems not so red.

bloody acacias they all look the same :(.. kinda looks like a longifolia also but it cant be.

Dam your wink at the end of your post imply's you know what it is.. its driving me nuts i cant ID it.
