post-4860-126629589988_thumb.jpg post-4860-126629596069_thumb.jpg

So what is this plant then....post-4860-126629567552_thumb.jpg..someone mumbled sumthing about them coming from SA...I assumed they where just regular cebil...the leaves are not like anything I can see on line or even remotely look like my columbrina tree....and yes I'm sure I saw the seed sprout etc...I planted 2 in each pot and this one sprouted but the other did not.

any clues,

Torsten I'm looking your way...

hmmm perhaps it's this plant...bullthorn..Acacia greggii.. thanks chaos...I think I've found out what it is, will see it the stem produces thorns like mature ones do.

275px-Acacia_greggii_thorns.jpg

alkaloids...N-methyl-β-phenethylamine,[23] phenethylamine[2]

from this link http://rixonology.wordpress.com/2008/06/17/acacia/#Alkaloids

but I'm unsure weather to trust some of these links and there alakaloidial representations.

I got this plant from the same source as chiral, given the same ID. I wonder if it is genetic diversity, or a microclimate thing? I recieved the plant as is, didn't see the seeds

Interesting that all of the leaf petals on my plant are opposite, where chirals plant has some opposite, some alternate petals

Semi-sensitive, the leaflets react a little, but don't close fully, but when I touched the Mimosa leaves at the same time, they fully closed up

I emailed chiral and told him the correct sp although i may have created some connfusion with the common name i gave my understanding was that the person who gave us the seeds didn't want the plant name in the public forum unless he has said otherwise i think this thread is best removed I'm sure an email to the person who sent the plant /seeds should clear things up I can tell you what it is if you can't get in contact with them but in my experience he was always good replying to messages its not A.Greggii as far as i'm aware

natural variation in colour with age ,also i discovered that the seed had to be dried a little before plastic bagging or the water content changed the seed colour and maybe its viability, black patch formed on some seeds, overall darker in colour.

t s t .
