0 Jox Posted August 16, 2014 I was thinking it could be a Gymnocalycium, just looking at the scaly flower.
0 mutant Posted August 16, 2014 not thelocactus rinconensis, I dont think so, I got one , the typical type and the flower is yellow... it could ba another thelocactus though... Jox is right in his note too, it could be gymno too...
0 Evil Genius Posted August 16, 2014 (edited) No, the color isnt yellow! ;) There are varieties and maybe theres one thats more yellow. But thats very likely a thelocactus. Edited August 16, 2014 by Evil Genius
0 mutant Posted August 16, 2014 (edited) T. rinconensis>>>> sure there's a yellow flower var, I stand corrected on the flower colour though: "flower white to pink to pale yellow", but anyways nothing on body and spination says rinconensis... all the varieties seem to be characteristically tubercled un-like this specimen and I cant find a variety with reddish spines like this... well it looks like T. bicolor (lots of vars) ... so yep I guess that's it....
