Just wondering where i can get a plant/cutting of the above mentioned species?

ive only ever spotted one of these in australian collections, but im sure they are around... such strange creatures!!! good luck.

i do have one possible place i can check on that may have it

ill glady chase it up for cost

+ 10%

if successful ( and if u buy)

i have one small one that wont have pups for years

creach you might try that cactus place down the coast bit otherwise theres a cactus collector of old know from cottesloe i need to get in touch with again....

thats if i cant find it locally over here...

They're around, 2 types fat & thin & cuttings only root in high temps. Best bet would be to contact your local cacti/succulent society.

If you find one don't water or fertilize it much as they have a tendency to split. It looks as though they're now known as Pachycereus too.

Those pics you have there evil are of a Cereus peruvianus var. monstrose. I already have one of those :)

yes it is the same. In fact it looks remarkably like the plant that i took some cuttings from the other day. Might even be the same plant. lol.

Bumping this old thread because I have been interested in a cutting of this plant for years now too, and was very interested by rev's comment about some existing in WA. I'm going to try emailing rev but not sure if he has changed addys, but does anyone have any further info?

It is most definitely around from memory I sourced mine from NSW a few years back.

there is a seller on ebay from NSW that has been releasing nice plants rather sporadically but it's such a sort after plant it is hard to buy/win them at a reasonable price, i haven't yet.if you put a search watch on ebay it will email you if one is listed.

In New Zealand, both plants I've seen came from the CSSNZ, so I second the advice to join the local cactus society. :)

Orana Cactus World had this one, i got mine there. It hasnt grown at all though since i got it about 2 years ago
