Guest auto302823 Posted June 6, 2002 http://news.com.au/common/story_page/0,405...3%255E2,00.html By FIONA HUDSON, medical reporter 05jun02 FOURTEEN Australian men have died after using Viagra in the past three years, official figures reveal. Latest national news Four men had fatal heart attacks, two had strokes, six suffered "sudden, unexplained" deaths and two died from brain haemorrhages. The figures are contained in the latest Adverse Drug Reactions Committee bulletin. It shows 773 Australians have reported bad reactions to the anti-impotence drug since it became available in 1998. About 50,000 Australian men spend more than $20 million a year on the popular drug. Headaches, flushing, and abnormal vision were among the most common minor side effects reported. The committee reported nine of 20 men who suffered heart attacks had a history of cardiovascular disease. Drug manufacturer Pfizer warns doctors not to prescribe the drug to men with severe heart disease or angina. One of the dead men was also taking a drug used to treat angina, which should not be used with Viagra. Pfizer spokesman Craig Regan said there was no direct evidence linking the 14 reported deaths to Viagra. "Most of the adverse reactions reported are relatively minor in nature," he said. Guest Thelema Posted June 9, 2002 yet no-one has died from salvia D. WHY? Why the awesome disparity? The Soma is being vilified! We need a "use of drugs" manifesto. As opposed to the "Misuse of drugs" Legislation.
