toby Posted April 17, 2002 so assuming hoping this variety? species? came from good active parents. would this trait carry to the children consistently or would it be a case of finding the gifted ones and cloning them? i don't know how long these things have been around has anybody grown them long enough to know, it would be a shame if in ten years there were thousands of these around that weren't useful,
Torsten Posted April 18, 2002 is this a KK427?? anyone have all of the knize numbers and what they are?? seed will depend on the other parent. if it is a 247 as well, then your seed will stay true to type, however this doesn't always translate inot reliable alkaloid content. taking cuttings from 'exceptional' individuals is much more reliable. would love to trade some plants/cuttings with you when they are ready. woof woof woof Posted April 18, 2002 Have seedlings of KK242 , KK Tarma both Trich Peruvianus var. Also Trich Glaucus, trich Patchanoi KK339,KK335 & KK552. ...will hopefully be able to get more. keep you guys posted. Cheers!
toby Posted April 18, 2002 i don't think it's a kk number the only instances i've seen it mentioned were sacred cacti 2 where it's said to be "commercially available" possibly refering to seed, just number no prefix, or the JLH catalogue where it's referred to the same way, i'd love to trade in the future the largest at the moment are about an inch or so. Torsten Posted April 19, 2002 the number itself without prefix doesn't make any sense. these are collection numbers, and they aren't really any good if you don't know whose collection
toby Posted April 19, 2002 agreed to above, the listing in sc2 is amongst kk's but conspicuosly absent on no.427, in the catalogue where other peru' varieties have a name tacked onto them this one has a number?
Ed Dunkel Posted April 23, 2002 I have some seed grown Trichocereus peruvianus "Matucana" TK336 The TK 336 would be a catalog number as well I guess, or would it? E D ps. any Juul's giants floating around here in Oz?

I have a Juul's X peruvianus which should be for sale next year some time.

Ed Dunkel Posted April 23, 2002 The same seeds I have then. Mine have grown to a healthy looking 10cm. Is cactus heaven still quite good to order from, spiraleyes? It seems like they have gone overtly commercial on there site. E D ps, Torsten, did you get my email? Any thoughts? Torsten Posted April 24, 2002 no idea who TK is. Ed, yes, will reply soon.
Ed Dunkel Posted April 24, 2002 It took about two years for them to really start growing fast. They made it from being slow little babies to quick growing teens in the last months! I had a look at the order form again and it said Ref no. T3336 T .peruvianus KK242 But the seed packet said T.Peruvianus matucana, peru KT336 (I'm confused) I also have some T. pachanoi matucana, peru ref no. T6336 and no other numbers.
