DJ-MC Posted September 1, 2020 so a good majority of my astrophytum seedling grafts got nailed by caterpillars last year now they've all come back it looks they're cresting well some of the heads anyway. I cut a couple off and put them on bigger stock (fingers crossed) was just curious how common this is from plants being damaged.
Evil Genius Posted September 1, 2020 Hey mate, it definitely happens relatively often on Trichocereus after injuries and insect attacks on the meristem. But yeah, can't really speak about hiw it is with Astrophytum. Pics?
freespirit420 Posted September 1, 2020 I read somewhere that its actually more common to happen from insect attacks, naturally occuring damage etc, than it is from actual mutations. I don't know how much truth there is to this, but I found it interesting to think about. my cuzco x peru at home is stabbing itself in the right spot, i'm hoping it has something interesting for me to buzz out at when i get back lol.
