Insequent Posted November 25, 2019 Wouldn't it be nice? A few of us have discussed this in the "Watch This Space" thread. Glaukus has, I think, summed up the likely outcome when the bill comes before the Senate; @Glaukus (Well, a bill like this has zero chance of being passed by Mitch McConnell's Republican controlled Senate, in fact, probably won't even be looked at before an election, especially given the current circus. They haven't even passed the banking changes that will allow their bank mates to accept green money, and that bill was passed in Congress like 6 months ago.) There's always a chance Wall Street will exert some pressure, but there's still a lot of opposition to legalization primarily because of the money many corporates make from the war on drugs. I think this guy has a pretty good handle on it too... https://www.forbes.com/sites/mikeadams/2019/11/19/sorry-congress-probably-isnt-going-to-legalize-marijuana-this-year/#57e066633ac1 Still, it's a step in the right direction and, however tentative, we are a little closer than we were before.
