Colonised wheat

Recommended Posts

Hi, Im inexperienced with all things fungi.  Anyway a while back i bought some Shiitake dowels from Forest fungi. Banged them all into some logs, awesome, now i have some colonised wheat left over in the bag.

I was wondering could i put the colonised material to good use, perhaps under cardboard somewhere moist?

Grateful for any ideas.

Corrugated cardboard soaked, and pulled apart to have the corrugated guts exposed for more surface will produce an OK substrate, I've had colonization and used it to expand but its never been really aggressive with Shittake for me vs other species.

If you could find some fresh dry hardwood sawdust/shavings  that's worth a crack with minimal mucking about. If it's green or old stored there is more mucking about.
