A friend 'found' this plant recently, he's busy atm so i did the work researching and harvesting.

Rita was a lady who really liked cacti, she and her husband bought the house where the Rita plant is growing 80ish years ago.

Rita loved her cacti so much she planted a big garden of plants - a couple of bridgesii, pachycereus marginatus, some cleistocactus and aloes are all that remain.

Luckily the property has belonged to the same family for the last 80 years so finding out the history of this bridgesii was possible.

Like many of the gardens and cacti stands in SA this garden was planted by a person with german origins.

No.4 is officially ** SOLD ** now :)

Cheers Spooge!

Rita looks like a great clone, reminds me a bit of those two other multi-trunked legends, Bruce and Cliff. Somewhere in between actually.

She must be a pretty good bridge to get that advanced and still look great, rather than all beat-up and 'ratty' like some.

cheers for sharing the love, and look forward to making some wicked hybrids  some day :)

No probs Halcyon, your most welcome. Rita's sister plant is not as flash as the Rita plant in the pics, looks as if there were miltiple stands of the same bridgesii at one point, some have fallen and regrown. Ive multiple tips with flower buds so will be making lots of Rita x's this season.

The 5 Rita cuttings have sold, Thank you to those who bought a Rita tip, i may put some more up if theres enough interest.

Yeah there's a few long discussions on it. It's quite risky with serious consequences. A few people have been busted and had their computers seized.

You may have to resort to smuggling them up the rectum. It's extremely painful but totally worth it. :P
