Export

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if any of you know the risks involved with theoretically exporting forbidden seeds and/or plant material from Europe to Australia?

I don't really think they could do much, but wondering if there's some kind of international cooperation between customs for that.

Bit late now, LOL. My understading is that it is all on the receiver not the sender. With me they have just sent a letter telling me they were destroying my package.

Haha thanks :)

Good to know that you aren't risking much more than a destroyed letter by importing banned seeds/plants.

I didn't mean to imply that. You can face severe penalties, big fines, even jail time, that is if they go to the trouble of correctly ID the seeds, but this does seem to be rare.

Unlikely to come back to the sender International, recipients may have some drama.

Depends on what is the material ect., can get more than a love letter.

Edit - for aussies some things are legal, but prohibited export as well
