Jackdaripper Posted February 6, 2018 hashslingr, the plastic wrap was a make shift collar for a DWC pere experiment i did. the project was a complete success. i abandoned it because changing the water out was a huge pain. as a secondary experiment i wanted to see how long the grafts would last if i didnt change the water. after 8 months none died so i decided to pot them in soil and see if the roots would acclimate to the soil............ spring is almost here so we will see how that goes. as for the crests those are just a few i will post more pics once they all wake up. gimli, thanks buddy. his name is rick. he is a boston terrior. wanted a frenchie but the wait is crazy and the price even worse!!!!

Feelin right at home now Inyan you will love this shit, there are a few of your gifts fetured in these pics You said it my friend, these seedlings are indeed throwing out some spectacular phenotypes. I've got a boat load of hybrids that should have flowers in color that I'm using for grafting stock for some of my more exotic seedlings myself. I'm only doing that mind you as I've already selected the few I intend to keep for my own grow out based on what I personally find desirable. Suffice it to say, you have a plethora of beautiful babies yourself without my add ons into your mix. I always enjoy watching your cacti pics float across my computer screen as you have quite the collection both seen and unseen.
Jackdaripper Posted February 14, 2018 I grafted up every seed you sent. Most bursting with growth, the rest are just getting their little hairdo on. Cant wait for spring to really kick in so i dont have to wait 3 weeks between grafting sessions.
Inyan Posted February 14, 2018 I think it goes without saying that bright light, longer hours of sunlight, hotter temperatures, and heavy watering cycles are going to be enjoyed by more than just the grafting enthusiasts as those are the same conditions that result in faster rooting of cacti as well. The better the roots the faster the growth. Never mind being able to douse with some heavy fertilizer in a few more weeks. You have a wonderful setup JackDaRipper. That combined with your grafting skills, quality seeds, etc.... How can you possibly go wrong?
Jackdaripper Posted March 2, 2018 My recent project. Up potted into 15 gallon pots they have 9.5 ft to grow from the soil line. I can't wait to see how thick these plants get! FRONT Kk 2150 Haurazensis P.v. Eileen BACK Melted wax N1 Psycho0xN1 KGC There is also some really nice smaller cuts in there and lots of succulents
Inyan Posted March 2, 2018 It is always a pleasure to take a peak inside the mind of JackDaRipper. Your pick of cacti to grow is not just to be envied for how well you grow them... you seem to ensure that everything you have is always top notch in genetics as well. Keep those posts coming my friend!
Jackdaripper Posted March 2, 2018 Thank you for the kind words inyan. I tried out your parafilm micro grafting tek today. We will see how it goes

Parafilm is going to make you a much better grafter so long as you can keep your paws off the parafilm and simply let it do its magic. Take your 95-97% success rate you already likely have and then bump it up to a solid consistent 98-100% depending on the day.

Jackdaripper Posted March 31, 2018 I've been hitting the skunk works shop pretty hard this week finishing up some projects. First up is modeled after a few popular rooting products. I plan on using it for Pere, various fruit bushes and trees, and p.v.
Jackdaripper Posted March 31, 2018 Second up was modeled after the most over priced piece of pvc the internet offered. How they can charge $400-$700 for one of these blows my mind. it was much more affordable to whip one up in the skunk works shed. This one is set up to seed 288 cell trays, I will be making one for 200 cell trays too. Soon I will have a sea of these beautiful trays!!!!!!
