Question

Hi all, ive got this Acacia growing on my property. I didnt even realise it was an acacia untill it flowered lol no seeds or pods to show yet sorry. 

Anyone know what type it is?

As always any help is muchly appreciated.

On phone so images not easy to Check out, but A. Mucronata is likely. (Narrow leaf wattle)

I dont think so, looking at the photos im comparing. The flowers on mine are more rods albeit lose/airy 

Ill take a photo of the immature pods in the morning

   I am not familiar with TAS species and I am really bad with photo ID But I had a go..

You doubting me now... Lol:wink:

 

I'm not 100% defo to be sure, and usually not until somethings in my mitts but this should help on the Mucronata ID front. It would fit the native veg assemblage that way but beware of ferals from garden escapes.

 

I can think of some others that fit southern assemblages, but they are not that form and color.

 

I'm thinking ssp.mucronata.

Worldwide wattle is a great site,so if it's another it will help no doubt. The drawings are better than photos, and highlight key features.

 

You might find a species list for your area and work it from there? Someone may have done one maybe NRM South or the council.
