Acacia ID please?

Recommended Posts

Had to drop a couple of trees after the hectic rains up here.. both appear to be the same type of acacia.. can anyone help me ID them?

Most of the seed pods were dry and empty or too green to get a good seed, but the one I found was very flat and oval shaped like the photo below..

I havent seen them flower ufortunately so I cant tell you about that. Both big trees, sorry they had to come down.

The curly seed pods make me think maidenii, but that's a guess.

Looks good to be a melanoxylon, and habitat looks right.

Can see the remnant of the fleshy aril on that seed, and the colour looks good.

implexa can look similar, but the aril is whitish and doesnt encircle the seed like melanoxylon
