Question

Found this gal at a homewares store. The soil is full of wood chips. Will repot immediately.

Could I get an ID please and help with what I think is scale?

Cereus peruvianus, the red looks like some superficial sun or physical damage, nothing to worry about. I've got a few plants that came with a few spots like that and nothing ever came of them.
