Tropane plants demystified - growing devil plants thread

Recommended Posts

NOTE: DONT FUCK WITH TROPANE PLANTS IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING

I dont know if that special recent moon plays some role, but I am luck to currently have a cool addition to my seed collection gifted to me from an awesome friend of mine, which are seeds of wild Hyoscyamus niger and Atropa belladonna from known locations. Have grown niger again, but its different to knw its from yr own country , heh... Add to this my recent find of wild Hyoscyamus albus from my city, and my mandrake project, I would like to make an open offer, of  a couple free seed packs, starting this thread, to people who would like to grow the whole package and maybe later contribute to the thread. PM about this.

Growing tropane plants is awesome, my fave being h. niger but I have to exclude mandragora which is special and different in its growing...

I have grown 3 species of Hyoscyamus, grown an ornamental purple flowered datura and seen stramonium and inoxia wild around here wild. Have grown all 3 brugmansias that are common here ornamentaly and they are easy as fuck to grow, design even make a bonzai out of them.

Hoping to see a different var of mandragora I am growing as well  this year flower, and as my atropa beladonna attempts failed so far ( got seed from an awesome memeber here but didnt get any sproutings) will propably sow shit.. remember november is a good season to sow solanacea here...

have tasted mandragora fruit and made liquer out of it, have smoked Hyoscyamus (2 sp) leaf and flower, datura (2 sp) leaf and Atropa leaf. Havent done for a long time.

NOTE: DONT FUCK WITH TROPANE PLANTS IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING

So to finish my introductory post, in my not-so-sober-right-now-mind, this thread should include a demystification of those plants that might include ethnobotany but also native occurence and cultivation of these plants for what they are around us!

So, are there any lads here that have a special relationship with this cluster of plants that are linked with "evil" ?

Me? you ask.... The strongest impression of mine is seeing an hyoscyamus niger flower live for the first time...  H.albus and H.aureus that I have seen live dont make the same impression .. BUT some people and me among them admit there is some kind of magic and mystery that these plants draw peoples attention in many ways... I am amused that the grow Datura inoxia as an ornamental in some places here... And sure its awesome, cam make a flower almost as big as your average bgumansia and more ...

Also of importance to my experience in accordance to those plants is the aroma that Brugmansia sp emit at late afternooon too night time and the taste and aroma of mandragora fruit. about mandragora fruit, there an interesting israelian paper on mandrake fruit and especiall in accordance with its aromatic substances

Peace and grow plants -  TROPANE MEGATHREAD

I have always kept brugmansia and datura and at my new house just picked up an ornamental pink brugmansia and nicked some seeds of datura wrightii from the San Antonio botanical garden to put in the front yard along the fence.  The stem of the mother plant was a beautiful deep purple.

a  single Atropa belladona seems to have sprouted, its in its 2nd o 3rd leaf now, it has been attacked with aphids, I hope it goes well..

Its actually quite fulfilling as I have already grown Datura, Brugmansia, Mandragora, Hyoscyamus

Like Hyoscyamus and Datura, the seeds of Atropa where unwilling to sprout.

In the first attempts I got no sprouts, and only one late sprout in some tray..

perhaps the method "just trow the seeds in some pot" and forget them could have some merit here.

I am now reading that its a perennial which is awesome...

I will add this from wikipedia on cultivation of Atropa

Germination of the small seeds is often difficult, due to hard seed coats that cause seed dormancy. Germination takes several weeks under alternating temperature conditions, but can be sped up with the use of gibberellic acid.[11]The seedlings need sterile soil to prevent damping off and resent root disturbance during transplanting.

..'been a lover of tropanities for a while now , especially since a smoke experience combining datura metel and solanum dulcamara whereby I was erm , ... by modern standards; administered such a vulgar display of sexual harrassment !!! XD by the green and purple female spirits combo of the above and good old ganje ... - years ago ... n stuffs..

'initially started the path looking for poisons, mainly to tip darts with for justin'; when tryna raise my newborn in the ghetto.

So then began wildcrafting various free local deadlies and stumbled upon Solanum dulcamara which I'd been told was deadly nightshade but since learned it was actually woody nightshade , a climbing/creeper plant of the Solanaceous tribe.

I had also heard whisper of a local medicine man fixing sunburn on a person who burnt like a crisp at the slightest flash of decent sunshine - and then some... with a nightshade cocktail of local mystery plants which really inspired me to look into these awesome powerplants since I had a mother at the time that for some reason I loved like a good son and that also had this funny freckly skin that crisped up as if vampirical when sunshine threw it's spears at her , which made me think ... "maybe I can solve my mum's skin problem in the sunshine so she can enjoy it fully like me who doesn't really burn with having genetics from one of the sunniest places to ever exist" ... if only it had dawned on me that the sun gods were throwing spears for a very good reason but hey,.. these plants had to be found none the less at the time and that was a driving force...

So starting with the person who had been healed, I gathered all that they knew were that: they were nightshades ,

but they saw 2 of them being gathered ....and how he was warned that they were very deadly,

and that the guy who administered said own-made ointment potion to said person's back and shoulder skin ..,had said the guy had been a herbie all of his life and couldn't be tracked down due to being out somewhere in the wilderness having cut themselves off from "silly society" ... to go and "witch it on out"...

and with a "good luck finding him", I dug up some random nightshade plant images on the net and showed a few before they got tired of it and left me to it with practically fuck all to go on other than a " might have been that one " pointing at a pic of the very lovely and deliciously seductive flowered: Hyoscyamus niger...

The oinmentee has never ever burned since .. and it's a rare sight to them being anything but topless even in winter ...meaning the sunburn has actually been cured of being a problem ever again - pretty attractive quality that eh?

so yeah sure are "mystified" and I'm looking forward to the demystification in this thread as it develops ... at least as far as growing them but also wanting to learn how to use them beneficially for skin and stuffs like it.

As far as main topic subject growing ...

I had one really successful year growing datura metel from seed... so with many plants to enjoy the company of...

My first ever Datura metel 2013-14.jpgDatura metel opens her wings 2014.jpgDatura metel seedlings 2014.jpgDatura metel project 2014.jpgDatura metel flowering 2014.jpg

I lost most to spidermites (even outdoors! and only a product called mighty wash ever worked albeit too late for most by the time I'd found it) but fell head over heels in love with the purple double metel and her fragrance inspired all sorts of projects toward perfuming but a lot of shit hit the fan in life so been tryna catch up with metel with no success this year...

That same year back then I also grew Brugmansia suaveolans yellow from seed to flower but then it died trying to overwinter it ...and found it to be indifferent from the metel effects wise , just a little less pleasant to smoke :) but still good enough.. and in far greater supply , although I lost 2 to spidermite also but only indoors so I felt they were a tad hardier against those 'orrible pests.

- can only find 1 pic for nowBrugmansia suaveolans juvenile 2014.jpg

I NEVER FUCKED WITH THE FLOWERS - sorry that just felt appropriate somehow , when in rome hey... :P

(at least not more than sniffing them and might've one-thrusted my dick in a few flowers of metel and then suav' ;) )

I also found a nice Solanum dulcamera growing in a lake and another from a canal for more diversity and began growing those in pots too , I had by this time researched enough to find that this plant was an ingredient in Asthma cigarettes so I began testing it as a method of reducing smoke harshness from those smokes that make ya wanna cough, .. and due to it numbing the lining of the throat that gets this irritation to cough , it nullifies it and makes the smoke very enjoyable whereby previously it would've been a choke-fest... - nice!

this one is the canal oneSolanum dulcamera 2014.jpg  this one is the lake one2017-08-19 18.27.39.jpg

I also read Datura metel being used for similar and the logical way forward seemed to be to try combining them :)

and over these years have been working to try and effectively build up a tolerance to these high level tropanities..

so as not to die like :)

So then a few years of 'no garden' went by and when that was past 2016 had arrived by a few months and so had a garden so naturally I began growing Latua pubiflora - one in bonsai pot2017-08-19 18.28.30.jpg2017-08-19 18.28.20.jpg

and one in the ground2017-08-19 18.34.12.jpg - on north^^ and

and Brugmansia arborea (or so labelled) and Brugmansia sanguinea in pots from a small plantlets from the Netherlands on a north facing wall and overwintered on northerly windowsills.. eventually putting them out as small plants 2 months and a week or so ago in the garden into the ground to entriffidate them by the looks of things -

B' arborea2017-08-19 18.30.29.jpg

B' sanguinea2017-08-19 18.29.24.jpg

B' arborea is supposed to be white flowered according to the box but I just took a pic of the very first flower and seems interestingly un-white to me so far2017-08-19 18.30.08.jpg2017-08-19 18.29.59.jpg

... B' sanguinea just in bud currently2017-08-19 18.36.59.jpg

erm.. LATUA IS SUPPOSED TO BE EVEN MEANER!!! so don't take it lightly?

'smoken about six-twelve 1-2 inch latua leaves so far in all that time (yr and a half - usually one leaf one time but upped to 2 leaves one time now) .. they're definitely noticeable.. and now their leaves are getting rather much larger ..

Oddly enough the latua in a pot on the northwest wall is doing much better than the one in the ground on the souwester...

I found as soon as the brugs were a metre high they could take a full bladder every few days and just rocketed from there over the last 2 months :) ... and did love superphosphates and high nitrogen feed ..., and iron and manganese and magnesium additional to tomato feed they loved too and trace elements, any leftover orchid feed water, and the odd 50 litres here and there of waste water from the aquarium ...

so yeah recently been working on the juice of arbo, sangui, and dulcamara and their poppyular balance artist as creams or transdermal fluids (sometimes internally) after chucking hyos' niger out for inducing headaches to which I'm pretty susceptible compared to most.. which i only managed to germinate in the last 2 months for the very first time (after years of failure they turned out real easy with no fuss on a windowsill this year in seed loam and minimal hydrating frequency) and transplanted to soil in garden about a month and a bit ago.. so it might still float others boat

..and hyos' niger didn't make it to transdermal trials yet so may re-incorporate it strictly externally if it is better that way for like curing sunburn forever ... plus I am struggling to get the plant going but this is how far it has progressed2017-08-19 18.32.20.jpg - keep in mind it was very powerful at inducing headaches twice consistently even at this size and smaller :o

I think that's about all I got for now memory permitting ..

Oh yeah , I read the constituents of these plants can have a profound effect on memory and this is also one of my interests to better understand bad memory and the areas of brain responsible and the possibility of getting a different area of the brain to perhaps perform the function more efficiently ...

Oh yeah ,... soils ... other than outdoor which is pretty much loam ... so are most of my potted setups ,

usually john innes #3 with added old cactus mix

Oh yeah I also have this very interesting Brug (or 2) grown of seed from a particularly cool and rare SABbette that I am really looking fwd to seeing flower and apparently it's pretty hardy but they only got this far for now..

I put them in the ground at south east2017-08-19 18.27.53.jpg and north east2017-08-19 18.29.08.jpg locations and appear to be really enjoying the lack of molluscs after so many generations of them now have been wiped out.

Oh yeah again -  the black nightshade Solanum nigrum2017-08-19 18.34.51.jpg appears to have found it's own way to the garden that aa's discovered while out taking pics for this post...

and here's a cool link http://www.moonflowergarden.com/midnight-musing/sacred-datura

later edit-

well , ..'never fucked with the flowers before the last 3 nights running ..., juiced a flower of each brug above and taken 2.5ml internally with the remainder transdermally via most absorbent skin areas..

.. and small amounts smoken.

I went through a phase of microdosing datura strammonium seeds a couple of years ago. I'd suffered some grievous injustices and I came to the conclusion that I was under siege by dark forces, sent either deliberately or inadvertently by someone who I once thought was a friend. I now regard them as my sworn mortal enemy.

It's funny, I never imagined myself as someone who would believe this kind of thing, or have a nemesis, but that's for me to deal with.

So I pledged to at least understand what I was up against, so I could defend myself. I cut protective runes into my arms and legs on my shield-side with a magickal knife and started a daily dose of 1-2 seeds to help see any subtle malevolent influence in my daily routine.

I was not prepared for the cumulative effects, they definitely build up after a few days, and I found myself doing odd things. Thinking patterns are drastically altered, which was my intention, but it's a slippery slope that ends somewhere I didn't care to go. So I stopped the doses.

I know it sounds odd, but this type of business goes hand in hand with tropanes, it's serious stuff. Just now, I'm sitting outside typing this and a crow came to talk to me. He wasn't happy that I tried to take his photo so he put some distance between us.

Datura.

Datura has been used to speed up the healing of burns, relieve pain from arthritis, alleviate asthma symptoms, etc. It is a very powerful healing herb that also happens to be very deadly like many potent medicinal plants.
