Cacti Newbie: What are the classic/essentials to sow?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

So I want to get into growing cacti but I'm overwhelmed by all the trichocereus strains and what not. Could someone make my life easy and recommend what they consider to be the 'classic' or 'essential' varieties/strains to begin with?

Cheers!

EG

well there is the pachanoi, peruvianus and bridgesii. Its nice to have those three represented. There are many others kind and crosses and variations, but those are the three Itend to focus on. Favorites of mine are - pachanoi - fields pachanoi

brdigesii - eileen psycho0

peruvianus - roseii 1 & 2   sharxblue

TBM;s are also nice.

Yeah, Trichocereus Australia is awesome, amazing growth vigour and germ rates. I'd also recommend misplant for hybrids. For the original strains, I'd recommend trichocereus.net... The issue with buying from overseas is that they take months to arrive as they get inspected by quarantine. It's all good to import trich seeds though, you just have to wait...
