Support the Conversation Around Psychedelics in Australia

Please have a look at the campaign we are running for next years psychedelic symposium

www.chuffed.org/project/psychedelics

This Spring EGA is looking for your support to sow the seeds for the next iteration of Australia's premier psychedelic symposium, EGA 2017. We are hoping to bring together experts from Australia and around the world, with a diverse range of backgrounds and experience, to discuss psychedelics and entheogenic plants.

The events are particularly expensive to run, and rely heavily on community support. So, in order to start the ball rolling for EGA 2017, we are aiming to raise funds to go towards covering some preliminary organisational costs, ensuring the conference can take place in a format that is both professional and sustainable.

The success of this fundraising campaign will enable a more affordable ticketed event for both academics and enthusiasts alike. Your generosity will help ensure that this important discussion surrounding psychedelics and related compounds goes ahead.

We encourage you to peruse the array of incredible donor rewards our community have brought together for this campaign, including original paintings and fine art prints from Australian artists, festival tickets, and much more. We hope you find something that suits you, or please feel free to donate any amount you can afford to support our campaign.

You can view some of the amazing donor perks available for this campaign, and get a sample of the talented artists active in Australia's strong and vibrant ethnobotanical community.

Spread the word and share the campaign amongst your friends and community, and please help support the important conversation around psychedelics.

With much respect, the EGA team

EGA wishes to send out a massive thank you to everyone that has donated to our current ‘Support the Conversation Around Psychedelics’ in Australia campaign. We have now achieved 55% of our total and feel it is worth highlighting this achievement. Big thanks also to the artists and pledge donors that have helped make this all possible and with less than a month till the campaign ends it is essential to make sure you participate now.

It is very important that we achieve our goal and secure the venue for next years psychedelic symposium and that this dialogue can take place right here in Australia. Even the smaller donations really help support our goal. We have been adding some nice pledges as we go along; even just yesterday Mitch Schultz director of the DMT: The Spirit Molecule donated some DVDs so if you need a copy of this film then why not support EGA and head over to our campaign page and get a copy as its just one of the many amazing items on offer.

To support the EGA fundraising campaign head over to the following link and remember share this campaign with your friends -  www.chuffed.org/project/psychedelics

With the EGA fundraiser drawing dangerously close to completion, there are still plenty of great perks to grab.

One in particular that might be of note to SAB'ers is the Herbalistics voucher valued at $150. There is also a few festival tickets, heaps of amazing art prints, plant prints from Ronny Simulacrum, as well as artworks by some of Australias best psychedelic artists, and of course some great EGA packs and EGA blotter art.

It has been amazing how much the Australian Psychedelic arts community, and dedicated individuals have gotten behind this project with many amazing donations. It has also been lovely to see how much our community has gotten together to back this fundraiser and help pool some much needed funds so that EGA can pay for the following:

· Deposit to secure the venue for the 2017 symposium

· Early logistical requirements for the 2017 symposium

· Early purchase of international keynote speakers' airfares to reduce travel expenses

· New and improved website and design for 2017 symposium

· New video content for the EGA YouTube channel

Any extra contribution above and beyond the target are highly appreciated and will help contribute to:

· Subsidise the student ticket price to the 2017 symposium

· Fund art projects, décor and lighting at the symposium

· Subsidise hosting & travel costs for international speakers whilst in Australia

· Support Australian speakers’ conference expenses

Hopefully in one last push with less than a week left EGA can attain the fundraiser goal and more.

Hey everyone.  We are just flagging that it’s less than a week to go on the entheogenic inspired EGA fundraiser campaign. So if you have been thinking of supporting or meaning to go back and grab one of the amazing perks on offer, time is running out. If you had a quick look early on in the campaign it is worth revisiting the perks on offer as we have updated the list and added more as we progress over the project.

Australia's psychedelic culture is vibrant, informed and well connected. Many festivals, conferences and other events have helped to foster this culture of which EGA is a big component. Those who have attended an EGA symposium know how special and significant these events are, the strength and power of the community by drawing everyone together, and continuing the conversation on defending freedom for ethnobotanical plants and their role as a medicine.

The EGA volunteer team is already hard at work in order to produce a unique, world-class symposium in Australia in 2017. The goal is to have 60 experts in the field of psychedelics deliver a professional conference program in a beautiful outdoor setting, complemented by an integrated arts and workshop program.

We invite you to support the vision of a large-scale professional conference on psychedelics in Australia in 2017 and to help further establish Australia’s important role in global psychedelic culture.

We ask that if you have not yet done so, please made a donation - big or small – it all helps immensely in this final stage, and there are some fantastic rewards available, provided by the generous community of EGA supporters. EGA sends much gratitude and love to those who have already donated, but we ask they do us one last favor and share the campaign over your networks. Thank you!

If you haven’t already, please consider contributing to EGA’s ‘Support the Conversation Around Psychedelics’ crowdfunding campaign at the following link - https://chuffed.org/project/psychedelics

Kind regards

Ronny

Why don't they offer tix to their own event as a perk, isn't that the usual thing to do? So frustrating! I don't really need blotter art in my life, but I do really need a ticket to this thing!

Hey Anodyne, thanks for your question. Tickets will be available around the start of next year. There are many reasons tickets are not available yet but the main one is the exact cost of the event is not known yet and tickets cost need to reflect the cost of the event and not just be plucked out of the air. Let me put it another way, everyone that supports the fundraiser now is effectively helping keep the ticket cost down and help paying the deposit of the site to make sure the event can go ahead. If you won't one of the first tickets join the mailing list as that is the best way to make sure you get the most up to date info.

Hope that help answer your question.

Greetings friends of EGA, we would like to give a massive thank you to all the artists and contributors who have helped to make the crowdfunding campaign possible now that it is officially a success. It has given the EGA team much delight to see so many donors support this fundraiser and assist to get it over the line.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO DONATE AND/OR COLLECT ONE OF THE ART WORKS OR OTHER PERKS ON OFFER YOU HAVE UNTIL 10AMMONDAY 24TH OCTOBER (EASTERN AUSTRALIAN TIME). To see the campaign page - https://chuffed.org/project/psychedelics

The EGA 2017 Psychedelic Symposium is now 100% green lit thanks to your overwhelming support, and the conference will be announced officially in the coming weeks. EGA fans can expect something a little different in 2017, as we are looking to create a new long-term model for the conference on a new site that is likely to be scheduled for every 3 years. We are hoping to raise the bar with a four day outdoor EGA Symposium at a new state-of-the-art venue on a stunning, expansive property in country Victoria in early December 2017. The 2017 event will be a hybrid version of our previous indoor and outdoor events to bring a more academic conference feel to the outdoor symposium model.

The aim of the campaign was to raise between $13,000 and $15,000 from the community to contribute towards these costs and kickstart this important event. To place that into perspective - it is around 5% of the budgeted total running cost of the volunteer run 2017 symposium.

Thanks again to everyone in the community that has supported this landmark Australian ‘Support the Conversation Around Psychedelics’ fundraiser to reach its goal and for making the 2017 symposium a reality.

With much respect, the EGA team
