InnerPathsToOuterSpace Posted April 16, 2016 (edited) Hi all, I am looking to prune back my caapi before winter hits and an online search hasn't given me any definitive answers. Is there any best way to prune my girl back, she's gone off over summer in the ground and has invaded all the surrounding plants in my garden pretty good through lack of diligence on my part Thanks for reading guys! theuserformallyknownasd00d Posted April 16, 2016 Step 1 - Aquire scissors Step 2 - choose the bits you want to cut Step 3 - using a chopping action cut the branch Lol but seriously it's that easy, just chop it where u want and root out the other bits! Maybe try to prune it in a way where it can grow more freely and not thru all the plants you don't want it too! Even if you cut it at the base it would regrow!
Strontium Dawg Posted April 16, 2016 What d00d said. Make sure you try to propagate all those cut sections so you turn your vine into many.
Conv3rgence Posted April 16, 2016 Does it need to be pruned? Mine went from 3 leaves to this... I still don't know what I'm going to do with it, all my spots to put it in the ground look to exposed. Anyways, here she is.
InnerPathsToOuterSpace Posted April 16, 2016 (edited) Haha, good one d00d! I'll just prune away at the upper extremities that are going ape shit in the canopy above. Anything with woody vine/not green sections is fair game to make cuttings out of yeah? Edited April 16, 2016 by InnerPathsToOuterSpace
2XB Posted April 16, 2016 I recall p's dog mention in another thread how much caapi loved being heavily pruned, Ie promotes nice thick vine really quickly, anyone got a link to that?? ?
