nut Posted April 1, 2016 (edited) Peru ? Not the best photo and the dehydration does not help. Will just have to grow it out and see. edit:found another photo Edited April 1, 2016 by nut
0 Evil Genius Posted April 1, 2016 Hey Nut, agree that it´s a bad pic. It´s a bridgesii!
0 nut Posted April 1, 2016 Old photo. Taken some years ago. I need to get a cutting back of that clone and grow it myself I gave it all away. The radial spines put me off Bridgesii as an i.d. These radial spines are not unusual for bridgesii ? I am used to seeing maybe 3 to 0 radials on my bridgesii.
0 Evil Genius Posted April 1, 2016 (edited) No, with that radial spine, the low rib count and the ribe shape all other potantial candidates are out the question. And the skin is typically for a dehydrated Bridgesii skin too. A normal pic will help to verify it but I really have no doubts here. The only alternative is Tr. cuzcoensis and that one differs substantially from what you have there. Edited April 1, 2016 by Evil Genius
0 pinegapcontrol Posted April 2, 2016 at a glance I would have said bridgesii, but would have wavered after a closer look. EG is expert.

0 myco Posted April 2, 2016 haha here we go the 2 experts dissagree I would tend to go with zelly and your original thoughts of peru spines dont quite look bridgey enough for me
0 J Smith Posted April 2, 2016 Bridge. Eg is expert.
0 Berengar Posted April 2, 2016 Very cool spination for a bridgesii!
0 Evil Genius Posted April 2, 2016 (edited) Bridge. Eg is expert. Zelly is one too. Just let it grow for a while and post some more pics once it´s bigger. I am sure it´s a bridgesii but some plants can look tricky. Give it some time....in a year you´ll be able to say more about the ID. 0 Conv3rgence Posted April 2, 2016 looks like bridgesii or bridgesii hybrid. I have one with similar spination i will post photo tomorrow.
0 zelly Posted April 3, 2016 i just think the areoles are too woolly to be a bridgesii, not to mention there would be some serious spination happening if it were growing in the ground & to be honest, I'm no more of an expert than the man in the moon....
0 sagiXsagi Posted April 4, 2016 Clearly a bridgesii, and it doesn't take an expert to tell.

-1 zelly Posted April 2, 2016 Hey Nut, agree that it´s a bad pic. It´s a bridgesii! i agree its a bad pic & disagree on it being a bridgesii, leaning more towards a dehydrated peruvianus ......
