skinny seedlings

Recommended Posts

Ok, first time trying to raise Obtusifolia from seed and about 70 percent germinated BUT they all appear to

be elongated and 'skinny' (compared to what I have seen in images online).

Is this possibly the result of too much sun or some other factor I have not considered?

I am going to re-pot the little guy on the left here (as he seems the healthiest) when I get some soil from

around the local Longifolia and Floribunda groves.

Yes, nut not too much sunlight. I've killed more obtusi seedlings with too much sun than I'd like to admit. At least these ones are still alive!

I tried germinating in a semi translucent plastic box once, these elongated acacia seedlings all died eventually. However, the others that I germinated in open shade next to mirrors are going strong.
