Conv3rgence Posted February 25, 2016 (edited) I've used desiccant to store pollen, and it works fine in the fridge / freezer. Can i use desiccant for seed storage? Or can it damage the seeds? Can the seeds be to dry or can to much desiccant suck goodness out of the embryo? Probably a noob question but I am curious? Cheers Edited February 25, 2016 by Conv3rgence
Philocacti Posted February 25, 2016 I really don't know, so this would be an amateur opinion. I think these silica bags might such the humidity for the seeds survival?

Auxin Posted March 1, 2016 It varies from one species to another. Some love quite strong desiccation, some dont, some cant be dried at all (recalcitrant). As a general rule, desert species are fine with silica desiccation. Useful information can often be found in the Kew Seed Information Database, including seed storage potential at different humidity/moisture/temperature levels.
