Trich ID

Question

I found this while on vacation a few months ago. I was out looking for a cactus nursery I had located via the internet, but when I arrived I learned it had closed down years earlier. My heart jumped when I noticed this beautiful plant along a fence line. I asked the woman who informed me about the nursery no longer being there if I could take a cutting, and she gave me the go ahead. Obviously a trich, I was wondering if anyone could further elaborate on what I've got. Thanks!

Very cool beast! It´s more of a short-spined Peruvianus. But the spine growth on that cutting looks fairly normal to me. So yeah, a beautiful Tr. peruvianus.

It looks a cuzco beast I have. That seemed to be the consensus when I posted pics for ID anyway.

Don't take my word for it though, I'm hopeless with ID's. Someone else will chime in if they have a better idea of what it is.

It seemed to be peruvianoid to my not so well trained eye. There are some very long spines on the cutting I took. Some pushing 3 inches.

Is that standard tennis-court wire in the background? Makes the columns look super fat :)

It is standard size wire fencing. They were particularly fat columns. Thanks for the help everyone!

this is the true blue!

in my mind this is kind of like a typical non-macrogonus peruvianus , of course there are icaro and los gentiles as well which are somewhat different.

my true blue is from some nooker who said its the bomb

looks too much like it to ignore this, this might be the same clone

excellent true blue peruvianus find, you should have taken a bigger cut though ...

The cutting was bigger. Couldn't take it on the plane back unfortunately. After my brother-in-law mailed it back to my house it was in need of some surgery. :-/ I wanted to take a nice big branch, but I got the idea the lady who allowed me to take a bit really liked this plant in particular. Maybe I'll drive next time and offer a trade for a bit more. The blue color is what caught my eye.
