When you get an email from work Xmas eve saying they're taking you off shift work when you get back from holidays, effectively cutting your wage by 20%. Merry fucking Christmas.

My rant is aimed at Torsten & has to do with New Member Approval.

According to a certain Super Moderator, only T has the ability to approve new members & it seems T has been absent for a fair bit of time & supposedly theres a huge backlog of new members waiting for approval.

Contrast that with the gazillions of members who've been here 6 months or more & havent bothered posting one single post.......

As for moving profile pics, I could swear pinegapcontrol's profile pic is winking at me....

Yeah it took me ages to get an approval. I had to send a couple of emails through to ask what was going on. I did get my approval though, but yeah it took some time.

Hoards of teenagers patrolling my street each night shits me. If you say anything to them a carload of iced up madmen arrives in minutes and everyone gets out with blades drawn.

Teenage wasteland
It's only teenage wasteland.
Teenage wasteland
Oh, yeah
Its only teenage wasteland
They're all wasted!

Problem is the cops can't be arsed with the paperwork knowing they'll probably be back out on the street the next day anyway.

How fragmented the standard of living is in Australia shits me. I've never had above experience of being hassled by teenagers high on ice and you shouldn't either.

The very least everyone deserves is a safe and financially secure living. Universal basic income and a change in police priorities. Prescription dexamphetamine for said addicted and a night in the watch house for threatening people.

It's a complicated mess that's for sure.

It's hard to dump all the responsibility on the police, some of these kids are younger than 10 and range up to their 20's or 30's. Some of the responsibility has to come back to their parents. The younger kids should be home in bed, but many of their parents have drug or alcohol problems, so they just don't care.

If I was a cop I wouldn't be in a rush to go to job in my street either, but most of the time they don't even get called. If you call the cops for anything you get branded a dog and become a target, so most people won't do it. It's a strange situation, someone can pull a knife and slash someone for no valid reason and if the person who got slashed reports it they are branded a dog.

What Gluakus said is true, if you lock up a teenager they'll be on the street the next day and when he/she goes to court the judge just lets them go.

It's like a jungle sometimes
It makes me wonder

zelly's rant shits me ;)

i did the last batch of approvals on the 5th of nov, so while that's 7 weeks ago, it is only 3 weeks more than I want it to be, and certainly not the root of what you're complaining about. if i let everyone in instantly you'd be complaining about all the noobs asking the same impetuous questions :P

No Stu, it's a typical NSW country town and predominantly white Australians

We have a few disparate groups from different ethnic backgrounds and for most part they are a better class of people than many of the Aussies. I get on better with many of them than I do with most of the locals. I'm a white Aussie myself, so it was a culture shock when I moved here.

Many of the kids I talked about before are second and third generation welfare recipients. They have no positive role models (or fathers for that matter) and virtually no employment prospects. Education is not seen as an avenue for improvement or employment and school is optional for many of these kids.

Mix all that in with a culture of drugs (mainly amphetamines) and you have a recipe for disaster.

Here's mine; Halal certification

The mechanism by which a non-religious person is forced to pay a religious tax and insomuch becomes an unwilling benefactor of a religion whose prophet was a bronze-age rug merchant who consummated his marriage to a 9 year old girl after having spoken to a sky-fairy in a cave.Said religion has been the orientation for over 22,000 terrorist attacks and counting in the last fifteen years and its adherents have achieved the impossible, having converted Sweden from the perhaps the safest and most socially stable socialist democracy on Earth into the rape capital of Europe. It also preaches peace and that it is correct to butcher your fellow man if the specifics of that peace are questioned.

People who spread the venom of pathetic, baseless fear mongering social media campaigns without doing the simple research which would challenge their ridiculous beliefs.

Before anyone feels the need to jump on me.

I'll just say I wasn't siding with Starling or taking an extreme view (it could certainly be taken that way).

I just like to challenge beliefs.

I can't understand how food certification could be taken in that context and certainly don't myself.

& I do believe we are all one, anything that diminishes one of us diminishes us all.
