Duboisia myoporoides

Recommended Posts

Hi folks. I received this Doboisia myoporoides as a cutting from Shaman-Australis in early Spring (US). It was basically just a stick which easily rooted and is now a very nice specimen. I have a few questions which somebody may be able to answer.

When does D. myoporoides generally flower? Is this species self-fertile? I have the excellent Flora of Australia, Vol 29, Solanaceae but this resource doesn't answer these questions.

If you look at the attached image, there are two small branches at the bottom of the trunk that are perfect candidates for cuttings. Should I take normal stem cuttings or go for air layering? I have some D. hoopwoodi seedings growing and am looking to generate a few D. myoporoides cuttings for rootstock.

I am going to take a stem cutting and and air layer. This is one hardy plant for sure, it has been living with my large Brunfelsia collection all summer and is doing better than all of them even in the over-winter hermitage. Thanks for reading.
