Question

The trichs in the pics below are all from the Secret Garden

Though they have tags in the pots none of them are named, the tags say SG.

a lot of these plants were quite manky when i got them, they have beefed up nicely and are looking better each day, some have flower buds on them.

This will be a running thread (hopefully this is cool with EG) and each day i will post pics of a new plant from the the SG that are unlabelled and those in the know, or not, can have a go at IDing them.

any input is greatly appreciated - thank you :)

Un named plants

it's quite fat and has no spines

i will post a pic of a pc and a few different pachanoi's for comparison.

will take a pic of this plant next to the pachanoi's for scale

not doubting you at all Sagi, i respect your input very much.

Pretty sure that with the PC was a joke. Pretty funky plant. The areoles look like it could actually be a Bridgesii hidden somewhere inside it but it has a lot of ribs and looks pretty massive. Will be fun to watch the pups. Many old Bridgesiis look so much like Perus that you sometimes have to confirm it with new pups. Doesnt necessarily have to be a hybrid.

reminds me of the only pic i ever saw (tip shot view from above) of the clone: chemical shaman's dick

i hope it is one them for ya ... and if not sorry for the noobial guess :innocent_n:

p.s. .. try some nitrogen into those yellower ones?

(when i didn't have access to plantfood nitrogen ...have used 9 parts water one part piss successfully for this thanks to some funky ideas floating around here back when that was done,.. i got black rot on another when tried it stronger though lol)

There was a CSD on Aus ebay today Mr Horse

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/181947650553?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

i bid hard and then was out bid when i hit my max of $359 ($28au a cm) in the last 10 seconds, my internet isn't that fast.......... obscene, but oooooooo so worth it, Samplants is an awesome seller........... :worship:

the fat bridgesii x has fluffijes on its tip so it may be forming buds, its off an old plant Horse and i don't think the Chemical Shamans Dick is that old a clone that it would be in the SG, though i have been known to be often wrong......... imho :)

everyones on their 4th feed for the summer, lots were much more yellow a few months ago, the yellow ones may pick up a bit unless they have PC in them

i might try pissing on a few.

Thats a nice plant Trichocybin :) , lookn good man.

is it an Eileen?

Hard to say as there are a few Trichos that can have such a spination. With Tr. knuthianus, Zelly named one of them. It also looks a lot like Trichocereus pallarensis, which is really rare. But wouldnt be surprised to find one in this garden. :)

I was not joking... it has no spines, but I feel its due to stress - beating up

#2.... hmmmmm hard... maybe cuzco, maybe macro, maybe "long spined pachanoi ?" ... knuthi is also a good one

the consensus so far could be..........

#1 = Eileen or a Bridgesii x or a Pachanoi

#2 = Knuthianus or a Pallarensis

#3 = Bridgesii

Number 4

fer sure, I'd go along with that.

I dont see any icaros in #4 though. new growth is showing bright green whereas an icaros should be showing very glaucus

imho its going to be relatively difficult to determine for certain what your plants are or should be labeled until they've had a few good years of growth, especially if you can get them in the ground. Once in the ground and allowed to develop to their fullest potentials, only then will they reveal their true selves.
