shonman Posted November 20, 2015 Has anyone here ever seen a captive specimen of the mythical Diplopterys Cabrerana plant outside its native environment? It is rumoured to exist, and there are dried herbarium specimens, yet, I can never seem t get a live plant for my collection after looking for 15 years plus...(Usa) Viable seeds or clones, does anyone, anywhere actually have this plant? (in captivity)

modern.shaman Posted November 20, 2015 It does exist... there are a few overseas that have plants and many in the states that have attempted importing (some with success but needs to be grown to confirm ID) Next year or two there should be some in circulation in the US with possible different clones or they are all the same. Will be slow to spread due to slow growth similar to viridis. Here is a member in Brasil with a real plant http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=17619&p=501484
gtarman Posted November 20, 2015 Next year or two there should be some in circulation... If only I had a penny for every time I've heard somebody say that. I'd have accumulated at least six pennies over several years. To be honest I couldn't give a rat's arse about Diplo. People only want it because they can't have it IMO, nothing too special about it other than its scarcity.
rahli Posted November 20, 2015 And the fact that it is a high alkaloid yeilding plant which would add further diversity to the supply of materials for the aya community. Um..... I mean it looks pretty and is rare. Gime gime.
