Not sure what this is. Young pasacana?

Question

G'day,

Just wondering if anyone knew what this was?

I got it as an unlabelled bonus with an eBay purchase last summer.

It hasn't done much since then....

When my pasacanas were that size they already had spines that had a curvature to them, which I can't really see in your pics.

Could be a tersheckii or pasacana, I'm sure EG will know.

I'd guess T. candicans or T. pseudocandicans.

Cool,

Thanks for the replies guys.

I know it's a bit of an early stage for an id yet.

It was just I saw a pic of a young pasacana recently that was the closest resembling thing I'd seen to it.

Now looking at some candicans I can see the similarities there too.

I guess time will tell.

Cheers.

wouldnt rule out pasacana just yet,.. speed of growth will be much more telling..

you say its not really doing something -- if it put width it probably is a pasacana, being candicans would make it go columnar sooner, or

just wait a bit more

Yeah, the slowness thing got me too.

I got a few things from the guy and this was the only one with roots and the only one that hasn't budged including some tiny cuts that were quite dehydrated.

Like you say, I'll wait a year and see what happens.

Cheers.
