zelly Posted July 11, 2015 basically i need a place to park some pictures that I'll be posting up periodically of plants that I'm 'boarding school' for other people. boarding either because I have the room to grow them out or because of my favorable year round growing conditions, or just because for any reason first up are three rooted plants from trucha, one being a seed grown (SS seeds sourced from Europe) spineless scop that came from Archaea. I received them bare root so as soon as they reestablish there root systems, they're going in the ground. The blue pachanoi was sourced thru Ogunbodede as a wild cutting from Peru, supposedly recognized & utilized by shamans in Peru. For ID purposes I'm calling this plant pachanoi KT Ogun The third plant (mottled greenish) has quite a history behind it and pictures of it illustrate quite a story, which also ties in nicely with the recent thread on Blue specimens For ID purposes I'm calling this plant KT Macro GF in no particular order... Link to KT macro GF earlier pictures at a former location. http://troutsnotes.com/a-trichocereus-at-gfs/
zelly Posted July 11, 2015 heres some pics of two of nitrogens latest boarders...... the two totally root bound in clay pots in front center...nitro brought these over on 5-30-15 first order of bizness is whacking the roots back & upsized potting, which stimulates new root & main stem growth Nitrogen brought this mess over on 9-12-2014, he calls it Bruce x Sausage here it is on 7-5-15 more to come...
nitrogen Posted July 16, 2015 There is no pride in admitting someone can take care of your babies better than you can - but what can I say, I haven't provided a good home for them these past couple years.. The back-story is that someone reported me to PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Achuma), and PETA put a bunch of heat on me to find a foster care situation for my babies.. Fortunately Zelly was able to do this and has excelled in his parenting - my babies are thriving over there..
solaritea Posted July 16, 2015 I was hoping you were sending some of yours out for boarding, Zelly. It is starting to look a little crowded in those pictures.
trucha Posted July 17, 2015 Thanks Zelly both for growing those and also for posting those images. I may love living in a redwood forest but my cactus don't exactly share that opinion. One thing I either misspoke about or worded badly. The first one was actually not *from* Ogunbodede but was a part of the same lot that included the Peruvian pachanoi which Ogunbodede published results concerning. Like that one, this was claimed to be one of the "san pedros" employed by shamans in Peru. It was CLAIMED to have been collected on the slopes above Matucana but I've grown to distrust much of what I've been told by those people. Among the few things which is known with certainty: the cutting was mailed to the USA from Peru. It came about in the wake of that "5 San Pedros" picture by Geronimo and subsequent efforts to organize the acquisition of live specimens of all *eight* of them for an analysis. I've also added some more images to the troutsnotes site of that GF "blue" cactus being grown in different situations.
trucha Posted July 21, 2015 (edited) This morning I uploaded some images of the short spined one that purportedly came from Matucana accompanied by some related images. http://troutsnotes.com/sold-as-san-pedro/ And some images of that scopulicola cutting. http://troutsnotes.com/scopulicola-cutting/ Apparently I am not configuring those links right (they only go to the home page) but copying and pasting the URLs into a browser works to get to those two posts. zelly Posted August 13, 2015 Seems that an Aussie mate wanted a cutting from SS, but they wont ship O/S, so we redirected the cutting to me to root out before making its way down under. Such a little guy, just perfect sized for a trip across the big pond .... T pach Ogunbodode
zelly Posted August 14, 2015 I have so many plants I often forget what I have until I stumble across it, but anyway today I spotted a plant that very much resembles the bluish plant above labeled KT Ogun.... whats left of the tag on the plant says 'Hudson' , 'Rimac', and was sourced from Malo from the nook

zelly Posted April 25, 2016 ugggg new forum software, I hate the fact there isnt a preview post function any longer.....well anyway heres some more eye candy kt-gf & kt-ogun taken on 11-21-15 I just love the frosty blue look of gf here they are again on 4-23-16: Seems that after his Psycho0 flowered & fruited in 2015, Nitrogen got a little carried away with his battle ax.....& on 10-23-15 brought me the stumps to nurse back to health..... here it is exactly 6 months later.... For christmas, santa nitro brought over another of his babies on 12-13-15....apparently high winds toppled some plants and his melted wax bridge suffered some damage..... ( i suspect it was the battle ax again) here it is 4 months later.....
