buttons grow way faster than most people think and rot much more difficult than most people think. Double so for caespitosa specimens.. I have left buttons exposed at the elements the whole winter and were fine, even though there can be rot in grafts and caespitosas ON the plant and between pups, not at the base...

yes it is: fast grower (2 years for flower from seed if rushed) and self-fertile, ought to be grown more, needs only a tiny pot...

These flowers are awesome man, so good. I'm definitely going to have to look into trying to source some Setiechinopsis now, it blows my mind that they can produce such massive flowers comparable to their size

A few recent blooms. Echinocereus scheeri v. gentryi, Mammillaria longiformis v. uberiformis, and Opuntia humifusa. I grew the Mammillaria from seed.

This is the first flower I've every had on this particular Mammillaria heyderii. It's in a small terra cotta container which is in need of a serious up-potting.

Had to have my son take this shot while I was at work. I got it as Coryphantha palmerii, but I suspect it might be a different species. It's in the same overstuffed pot as some of the other recently posted flowers. You can't actually see the plant in this photo btw, but you can see it in the background in post #15.
