AZS Posted March 5, 2015 Sadly, some of us have heard that Zelly has been having some serious health issues and is currently in the hospital undergoing treatment. He is struggling to stay in good spirits and could really use your support. He loves chocolate and even though it is against hospital policy we may try to smuggle him a few candy bars! Bottom line is that he has been an all around great guy and instrumental in spreading some really unique seeds to all of us, many of them one-of-a-kind hybrids. So if you could spare a few bucks to show your support, cheer him up and help buy him some goodies it would be greatly appreciated! No one can survive on hosptal food for long! He wants everyone to know that all pending seed orders will be shipped by Thursday, March 5th. and he thanks everyone for their patience and support! Kindly send any donations to him through Paypal at: [email protected]

doxneed2c-me Posted March 5, 2015 No way. Zelly talked to me when I was incredibly sick and in deaths shadow. I wish him the best. I think he sent me seeds which gave me hope to keep battling through my disease. It was everyone here who supported me in ways they didn't even which kept me around. Lets do the same for Zelly. P.S. Zelly I did find you the answer you were looking for by the way.

zelly Posted March 6, 2015 Howdy mates, thanks so much for the well wishes & positive vibes, they're very much appreciated. Long story short, I banged my leg on a ladder around mid Feb, just barely breaking the skin. I failed to address it in my usual fashion, Algidex AG packing gauze & then a telfa pad. Not immediately addressing it, I developed a severe bacterial infection that landed my ass in a VA hospital for 8 days. Few ppl know I'm a disabled Vietnam Vet. ER docs hit me with a IV cocktail of two of the worlds most powerful antibiotics, (the big guns they called 'em), telling me most ppl are cured in three days on this stuff. Well since my leg has really piss poor circulation due to other medical issues it took me 7 days to see some progress. They were really concerned the infection would get into the muscle, then the bone, which would mean immediate amputation. After 8 days they sent me home, but required a follow up to my Primary Care doc on 3-3. So when I saw my PC doc on the 3rd, she was concerned about a rash totally covering my body, so she wheeled me back to the ER, where I was re-admitted to the hospital. Fuck. ER docs were concerned the rash was a complication of the big guns abx. So next day they wheeled me to Dermatology, where the Sr Dr said nope, no drug interactions, but nobody could explain the rash. So then they gave me an IV of another "big guns" abx for a day, then decided to send me home again with a 2 day supply of "big guns" in pill form and a walker. Left ankle is still fucked up, trying to get back on my feet is a damn slow painful process. The first week I was in the hospital, a sister sent me a box of Godiva. So then I had my wife take the box to 3 other patients in the same room I was in, telling each guy to take 2-3. Its a god damn shame, but it seems a VA hospital is the last resource for a lot of Veterans, the last stop before the grave. One guy in the room was a homeless WW2 vet. One night I had what has to be one of the most humbling experiences of my 65 years on planet earth. The guy next to me was fluttering the curtain separating our cubicles, pulling it toward his bed. I pulled the curtain back to see his hand, outstretched towards my bed. All he wanted was somebody to hold his hand, which I did. The experience was a game changer for me. I just want the mates to know that made a donation to me that 100% of the funds will be spent 'giving back' to other veterans in the VA hospital. Six packs of juices, fresh fruit, boxes of chocolate.
Evil Genius Posted March 6, 2015 Hi Zelly, so glad you are out! Looks even worse than I expected it so we are all happy to have you back. Kept it quiet because I wasnt sure if you want people to know you are in the hospital but am actually happy that AZS posted this so you can see how much positive vibrations our guys have been sending you all along! Again, good to see you back and take all the meds it needs to heal properly. Infections like that are the secret killers and if you are past a certain point, everything can go to shit pretty fast. Get well soon!
djmattz0r Posted March 6, 2015 Hope you make a speedy recovery! Glad your complications didn't get more complicated as well! Sending those healing vibes your way

hostilis Posted March 7, 2015 (edited) Wow. Zelly has shown me so much generosity. Even sent me a huge fucking echinopsis out of nowhere just because i posted on this forum that I was starting to love echinopsis and wanted more. Didn't even know till it got here and then i was puzzled who sent it, but luckily i figured it out. It was very awesome. Anyways, sorry to hear you're having troubles zelly. That experience of you holding the person's hand sounds amazing man, and I'm very happy that there are people left in the world like you that will take someone's hand when they really need it. It is humanity at it's best and it keeps me going everyday to know that this exists in us. Everyone needs people to be there for them. It reminds me of the other night when my friend and I were downtown going from concert to concert. On our way to the second concert we passed an old homeless man near a hotdog stand. He stopped me and said, "I'm just really hungry right now. Will you please buy me a hot dog. I don't want any money, I'm just hungry." I hesitated for a second because i was in a hurry to the other concert, but then decided to do it anyways. Well, there was a pretty big line at the hotdog stand and i only had my debit card, but the person at the front of the line heard the conversation and said that she would buy him a hotdog or two. Anyways, it doesn't sound like much, but it really impacted me. I literally started tearing up after because it made me so happy that there are people willing to lend a hand to others when they need it, just like I try to be everyday in my life. Your story has the same impact on me, and I can only imagine how it impacted you. Anyways, I want to thank you for sharing this story and also for your presence and positive energy here. I'm doing extremely well with money right now so I'll make a donation to your paypal. I will be sending you positive vibes in the hopes that your leg heals and you return to good health in a timely manner. hostilis Edited March 7, 2015 by hostilis
