Let the hunger and passion grow inside you, learn as MUCH as you possibly can, start small (easily available, legal, useful herbs like calea zacatechichi, passionflower, sinichuichi, damiana, mugwort etc) you'll find you'll have greater appreciation for subtleties and then more intensive experiences will find you when you're ready IMHO if you're on the young side you probably particularly want to dothis the best way your psyche can handle. I'm not going to presume anything about you though, and that's another reason people are hesitant to give willy-nilly.
