Gimli Posted December 22, 2014 cool but we grow to get fruit yeah??? I've seen bonchi's with fruit before. Just a minimal way of growing indoors on a window sill without it being 4ft tall lol
IceCube Posted December 27, 2014 The best way I found to germinate is to put them in a sushi container with chux cloth (vs paper towel). Most seeds germinate within FOUR days, but it could just be the Brisbane weather at the moment!

Gimli Posted January 2, 2015 (edited) How big are your stems at the base? My habs are the biggest at 25mm / 1" diameter at the base, around 3 months old.. Edited January 2, 2015 by Gimli
Gimli Posted January 20, 2015 Each hab plant has around 30 pods on it. Cut a bunch of can lids off (albeit much better than these 2) bit of recycling and good for seedlings. Black rumba ornamentals. Got around 30 seedlings of various peppers. Will go into my grow tent in a few months for the winter period.
Brendo Posted January 22, 2015 Hey guys, Wondering if anyone can identify these plants? They were grown from seed given to me by a member here, no clue what they were as they were all mixed. I'll snap a few more pics as they begin to ripen
Gimli Posted January 22, 2015 Pics when they are a little more developed If anyone in Perth wants some Carolina Reaper, Fatalli or Orange Jonah 7 pot seedings, I will be germinating some in the next week or so. I do not have many seeds.

Brendo Posted February 5, 2015 The first 3 photos looks like a "Bishop's Crown" pepper.. The last 3 look like a Habanero. Yeah I thought they were habs.. Now just to wait & see what colour they are Thanks for the Bishop's Crown ID.. Just googled it, I think you're right. Do you enjoy milder chilli's? I'm growing Anaheim & Bell's, both very sweet. Are there any others you can recommend?

Do you enjoy milder chilli's? I'm growing Anaheim & Bell's, both very sweet. Are there any others you can recommend? Aji Lemon are quite nice, have a citrus-like flavor and not too hot. Milder than Habanero. Mild peppers have their place, particularly jalapenos. I love making jalapeno poppers! yum Anything Rocoto are nice, mild.
Brendo Posted February 5, 2015 Yeah I'm growing Aji Omnicolour, similar to the Lemon's I've heard. Will look into Rocoto, thanks
Gimli Posted February 13, 2015 Turns out my Habanero plants are actually of the "mustard" variety, so will have some seeds dried soon to give away. Going to have some Jalapeno and Aji Lemon seeds to give away soon also

Brendo Posted March 7, 2015 I made my first chilli sauce today, I've wanted to do this for a long time and so was pleasantly surprised that it's quite easy, and turned out better than I expected. I had a few fruits freshly picked and figured I wouldn't eat them all, so I looked up about 8 recipes, picked the best parts from each, and added a few ingredients I thought would go well. Here's my recipe ~10 Bulls Horns ~10 Bolivian Rainbows ~20 Aji Omnicolours 1 Chocolate Habanero 1 Trinidad Scorpion 2 yellow Trinidad Scorpions 2 tomatoes 1 diced onion 6 cloves garlic 1 pear 2 kiwifruits 2 limes juiced 1 tblspn salt 1 1/2 tblspn pepper 2 tblspn sugar (I used brown) 1 tblspn Habanero Tabasco sauce 1 tspn Worcestershire sauce 1 tspn grain mustard 1 cup chopped coriander leaves 6 tblspn red wine vinegar 2 tblspn apple cider vinegar Thyme This was all blended up for about 5 minutes, while a small amount of oil was warmed on a pan. The sauce was added and cooked on low for 25 mins, stirring occasionally to prevent burning. Didn't bother straining. Here's how it turned out. I've got to say it's quite delicious. Nice n' fruity and it seems to be spicier in different areas too, I've only had 2 teaspoons so far, but I copped a stronger whallop from the scorpions in the 2nd teaspoon. Really looking forward to this. Thanks guys. Post your recipes!
