The Spineless Trichocereus Scopulicola Project

How long for scop flowers to develope? I've had these tiny little fluff balls for forever now that are so slow in developing into flowers. I'd say they've been there for 8mths, maybe there aborted? I'm talking about my massive spineless scop

Maybe it started to focus on root growth etc when u started looking after it and put flower production on hold?? im sure it will flower in its own time

My thoughts as well. Disturbance to the root ball will set back the flowering process. I'm guessing those flower buds were aborted if they've been chilling for that long.

i reckon the flowers wont abort but stagnate and resume when conditions are right. Surely the plant will put energy back into a nearly completed flower structure than create new ones

Yeah you're right. I've had flower buds abort when I've repotted, but they fell off after awhile. Since your scop's have been there for that many months they're probably just stalled.

pc fuzzballs can take up to 2 full yrs to mature into a flower. The same holds true with my huanucoensis.

Your buds are good to go as long as they remain 'firm to the plant' when touched.

One of my lc scop seedlings dropping ribs and then terminating. Might get a weird sausage plant out of it.

Well done!! Very exciting there are some Eileen hybrids starting to happen- did anything pollenate MM's Eileen flowers?

I'd have to dig thru my old PM's but I sorta remember MM telling me his eileen flowers didnt take whatever it was he used on them..

and many thanks to Master b, I've a nice collection of scop x eileen seedlings.  the pot in the middle seems to be  showing mostly eileen characteristics so far.... :)

WOW Scop x bridgesii look AMAZING I might have to buy some more zelly seeds and store them until I am willing to sow seeds again.

So here are some ' Koehres scop'. I'm with Master B... NEVER again I bought 4k seeds of that 'scop'. I did get high germ rate near 90% however they are NOTHING close to scop.

My graft died but I did keep these seedlings growing in a pot. Very upset with this purchase thankfully was able to get some lc scop x scop and have 1 in the ground now.
