I have sown 100 Köhres scopulicola seeds in November and germination was almost 100%.
It looks good. I added more seeds in January. I send a photo...t_scopulicola.jpg

I know of someone trying to cross scop x scop for the last couple of years with no success .. perhaps his plants are all the same clone..

.. perhaps it is time for the spineless scopulicola seeds project :):)

One fruit of scop x scop there as well .. a bit mouldy :P but seeds germinated just fine, after the initial mould in the trays was treated with thiophanate-methyl systemic fungicide for 3 days..

Sending 10 seeds to keen people willing to paypal 2 EURO for the postage / if you're interested PM me with the details.. /

So I got a koehres scop seedling, an ebay scop seedling , and a legit spineless scop x scop seedling to take on grafts. I will be updating with their progress as they grow to see how they turn out.

Anyone have an update on koehres scop seeds? It is still too early to tell for sure and it was just 1 graft but mine looks like it may be terscheckii or a terscheckii cross. I'll post a picture in the future but so far looks nothing like a scop.

Hey all, sorry I never got back to you about my mate's seeds. The fruits were developing nicely but he went OS for a couple months. He sent another mate to go check them but his mate could find no trace of them. He has no idea what could have happened. Birds? Anyway, he will try again next time.

Good luck yooose-all

Here is my Kohres Scopulicola graft; originally I thought it was a crest but turned out double headed. After the graft stalled for a few weeks it blew up and now is starting to look like a terscheckii based on the spines and girth I usually have on pereskiopsis.

I'll keep it growing regardless but hope there is atleast some scopulicola genetics in there.

Wow. That doesn't look like scop. My koehres scop seedling graft failed, but the other two took and they're looking promising.

BB Scop x TE Scop from MasterB Looks great!!

Ebay Scop. This one is already starting to show the spines sinking into the areoles with those weird ridges, but it looks a bit off.

I have a few more scop x scop from random people that I'm going to be sowing soon. I'll keep you all updated.

Those look very promising! Can't wait till all of these are older and we can hybridize them again. There will be tons of different spineless scop clones floating around.

One of my seed grown scops has at least 9 flower buds starting to form, first time this one has flowered. I still have pollen from Master B's "Bird's Bondi Scop" left in my freezer from last season so even if I don't have another scop flower this year, (hopefully I do), I will try to create more true spineless scop seeds to spread around to the community! :innocent_n:

It's the same scop that fell over in my garden a few months ago.

Mate i have shit loads of flowers coming on my two big scops and bird said that he reckons his scop has more flowers coming on than last year and he must have had 30-40 min.

If we cant get some pure scops between these plants something is wrong!!

I will keep in close contact when time comes nigh.

Im super keen to share the scop love to all our mates especially them on the other continents where they may bit more difficult to find.

If anyone has a request for any particular scop crosses....let me know and i will try and track down the pollen.

Also i know its a bit early but if you think you may want some of birds or my scop pollen let me know? Always happy to help

Cheers

B

I think a scop x big fat blue Peru would be awesome! Roseii or a matucana. Any one have any pics of a mature plant of this kind of cross?
