This mushroom growing thing is going pretty well for me.i have collected several species and a fruited some of them

If anyone else at SAB is interested i can do a gauranteed clean Mycoculture for $15 + p/H of several oyster mushroom strains

and shiitake that are no problem at the moment

soon i may be able to add the lions mane (Hericium erinaceus) , ear fungus (Auricularia)and pink oyster to that list among others

I am working on getting some of the premium medicinal shrooms too but due to the cost of acquiring them they will be more expensive - however im sure i could cut a deal with them too smile.gif

Most have medicinal properties as well as edible.

Im experimenting with dowel spawn for rapid and easy innoculation of logs and stumps

going well so far.

but keep on practicing with those cubes for now wont you wink.gif

Sounds like a great project. I tried growing some Oyster mushrooms from a sporeprint of a Coles bought batch. I had a bit of problems unfortunately as some other contaninat took over (some dreaded mycelium that starts of white and goes a blue/green colour and loves moist paper and wood)

Where did you get the starter cultures from? Any aussie native oyster or other edible/medicinal mushrooms coming up?

Good luck

E D

ps. I might contact you for some once I finish some other personal projects

you tear open the shroom and with sterilised

tweezers tease out some tissue and transfer it to agar

do lots and wait and see

some contaminate others dont you then subculture until its clean...

Im hoping to get Pleurotus australis off a contact soon

also i know where a trametes versicolor (turkey tail) is , so ill have to go get that
