mushfun Posted July 30, 2014 Any idea of the ID of this one? I like this one, very spikey. Picked it up today.
0 mushfun Posted July 31, 2014 Thanks getafix. I quick Google tells me they are good for grafting to, very handy.
0 nitrogen Posted July 31, 2014 Did you just chop that one out of someone else's garden?
0 mushfun Posted July 31, 2014 Yeah, did the knock on door and asked the lady if she would like to sell a cutting. She laughed and told me to take one. I now carry an old sheet and wood saw for these occasions. Really nice bushy vigorous cactus growing out in the open exposed to Tassie weather.
0 zed240 Posted July 31, 2014 Yeah, I have gloves, a saw and a knife in my car at all times in case I spot something interesting. So far everyone I've asked has been only too happy to part with a cutting for free, even though I offer to trade or pay. People are generally pretty nice. I would never recommend cutting someones garden without asking them though, it would break my heart to come home and find someone had done that to me without asking.
