0 ☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ Posted July 31, 2014 pics are from a friend of mine over in Ecuador who wrote to me to see if I could ID it I will see if they have any more info yet The Kechwa say it has a flower similar to hostilis , but one has not been seen yet to photograph I did suspect albizia but then also suspected mimosa scabrella , since it was similar to my juvenile's leafery ... before they died I'll dig a pic out of my album here to see if I can find a pic showing the similarity .... -no i cant this is the best one i have but the leaves/phyllodes did "square" out oddly before they died, I will be growing them again at some point. -also the friend says the leaf pictures are from smaller juveniles beneath the tree (leaves on the main tree are too far away I guess)
0 ☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ Posted July 31, 2014 (edited) Thank you kindly you guys , big respect and bless. have some more info from my friend over there and I have relayed the need for flower shots ... he's saying : "some more pictures of the roots that might help. It seems that the bark gets redder the dryer it gets but it is not red from the start it just has a very light reddish 'glow'.You can use these pics wherever you want no problem. I am just eager to find out what this species is and if it is usable. The locals use it to treat stomach issues (diarrea) and they also use it for herbal tinctures which they state helps against bad luck.I hope we can find out about the tree. It is quite common here it seems but maybe just very local. We are at an elevation of around 800 meter here between the amazon and the andean mountains." after relaying back about the flower and feedback from you guys , my buddy said this too : " not been able to check myself:The flowers are similar to the hostilis mimosa they say (kechwa) I showed them some pics and they say it looks like this (the image on nexus' wiki)Regarding the spines. I did not see any spines nor thorns on the main trunk of the tree. The locals told me that the tree has spines when it is small but not when it is large (please take their words with a lot caution .... often they just answer something if they do not know). Thanks and all the best to you" Edited July 31, 2014 by ☽Ţ ҉ĥϋηϠ₡яღ☯ॐ€ðяئॐ♡Pϟiℓℴϟℴ
