That is a unique looking plant. Doesn't look like a tricho to me. I would have no clue.

Originally I passed right by it.....didn't grab my attention. On the way out I noticed it and really liked its aesthetics!

Thanks Thunder Horse....hoping its a Trichocereus litoralis. I guess I will have to wait for some flowers. That is a beautiful plant Solaritea.....one of my favorites. Also, thanks to everyone else for the input and help.

So this is obviously either Trichocereus Chilensis or Eulychnia Acida and I don´t think you can say it without measuring everything on the plant including spine lenght and stuff like that. Both are almost indistinguishable sometimes and though it´s possible that it´s Eulychnia Acida, I think that it´s Trichocereus Chilensis. In most cases, Eulychnia Acida has needle-like spines and this spination fits more for Chilensis. The net is full of Trichocereus Chilensis pics labeled as Eulychnia so I don´t think that google images is any help with this plant. I think you´ll have to see the flower, which is really different to Trichocereus Chilensis Eulychnia acida has 10 cm diameter and Chilensis 8-12. Chilensis has fiercer spines (golden), 8-12 radial spines and 1 middle spine. Chilensis has 16-17 ribs / Eulychnia acida 10-16.

Both plants grow at the same spots and collectors/and phrotographers mix them up ALL THE TIME. And the pics that I have of Eulychnia Acida look totally different in regard to the spination. It also is not a weird Spachianus or Grandiflorus hybrid. If you hear hooves, think horse not zebra.,
